« on: November 25, 2014, 08:32:21 pm »
Remember reading somewhere on the forum that this was not a great cookbook and see very few recipes have been reviewed which is quite telling.Has anyone looked at the " new" now double plus the price! book and could tell me whether it's worth purchasing.I am really after recipes for 2 people as I am not yet practised enough halving recipes and find many that I freeze are just not that great reheated.

News about Thermomix / Re: TM5

Hi All
Awaiting my Tm5 and wanted some advice on recipe books.I am a sucker for the pretty pictures but realistically would like to purchase ones that I will actually use. I have been using a Thermochef  for a year, been using the EDC, your forum, as well as the Recipe community  for recipe ideas.I am not a hugely adventurous cook (have got much better using thermo cooking though) and need to feed 2 teenage sons and a hubby. None of us has allergies but I have enjoyed some of Quirky Cooking's recipes, so wondered about Jo's book as well as Tenina's Keeping it Simple and For Foods Sake (get both or which is better). Any advice or suggestions welcomed Thanks

News about Thermomix / Re: New Model Thermomix, truth or rumour?

Anybody got this page so I can check ,think its a cheek to deduct your money and then make you wait with no clear time frame " sorry no idea when you will receive- huge backlogs ".

I have decided to order a TM 5 but do it with a slightly sick feeling as I have 3 friends caught up in this launch debacle .It just continues to get worse with such poor handling by the company. I do also feel somewhat pressured to buy now in case there is a big jump in price when the REAL  " sorry but we can't tell you what it will be" price comes out.

Thought when I finally had saved up to afford one it would be a happy occasion, but I'm now embarrassed to tell my friends and hubby is less than impressed I that I am getting involved with a company about to be a case study in how not to release a new product!

Can't find much actual feedback anywhere (FB, You Tube, forums etc) so suspect not many are around just yet. The little feedback there is is also wildly different, some saying it is SO much better ,others saying there's little difference.Seems like there are quite long waiting periods for those that have ordered too.A consultant I contacted was only getting hers this weekend. There are a few videos from TM UK on YouTube and I think earlier in this thread there were a few comments ,but looks exciting, so I am glad I waited.

Hi Petruka  I am in the same boat, trying to decide between a second hand TM31 with 2 bowls or a new one before the price goes up end of October.Am tending towards just biting the bullet and getting a new one though. My rationale is, even though a number of the T31 are only months old if something goes wrong you will have no recourse from either the seller or from Thermomix itself as warranties are not transferable .  I have been vacillating about buying a TM for months ,wasn't sure I would use it, so bought a cheapie knock-off and played around with it and really found the thermo cooking style suited me.

If there was a way to by-pass dealing with TM Australia i would, as I have real issues with their business ethos but i figure there maybe teething issues with a new model so for me having an Australian warranty was the decider.

From what I can see the two machines are very similar so recipes and forums such as this delightful one will still be relevant whatever you choose.

Introduce Yourself / A Thank you and some advice please
« on: September 13, 2014, 01:33:47 am »
First off a thank you. I am a very cautious purchaser preferring to do lots of research before making big outlays. I attended a demonstration a year ago and quite liked the idea of a Thermie but as I wasn't sure I would enjoy or use it enough to justify the huge outlay  I chose to get a cheapie model to experiment with. After a few months of constant and enjoyable use I decided to take the plunge but luckily discovered the thread on this forum discussing a new model so held off purchasing until I knew for certain what was happening. So thankful that I did as I at least now have choices. Not sure whether to take advantage of the 100's of 2nd hand TM 31's some a few months old  with spare jugs, jump in and buy the TM5 before end of Oct and hope any glitches are covered by warranty or wait a few more months until the bugs are ironed out and hope the price is not going to be $500 more? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
