I thought of that last night, Cookie, I will check for that information at the weekend to see if I can trace back to a serial number or something.

I decided to make a vegan butter chicken recipe at the weekend - it looked pretty straightforward and fairly easy and tasty so off I went, got all but one of the ingredients which I didn't already have and into the kitchen I went.

All went well until I tasted it ... and substituted the missing ingredient with harissa ... BIG MISTAKE - it was so bad I couldn't even give it to the hens or put it into the compost, straight into the bin it went.  I am trying to work up the courage to try again, next time with the correct ingredients.

Don’t you hate that - going to all that trouble then having to toss it?  I’ve done that several times so understand how you would have felt Marina.

How annoying Marina.
I prepared a rye SD today and it’s in the fridge tonight. I also made some Jam Drops for the biscuit barrel.

Two of our GD came today to do some cooking.  One is vegan and the other is a non vegan.  We made a vegan lasagne and a vegan choc-raspberry soft serve.  Also a chocolate cake with icing and mini m&m's on top.  No photos as they all went home with them.  A fun day but now I am ready for a rest.

Talk about families with different dietary needs.  Our Best Man recently visited from Scotland with his son and daughter.  The BM is a fussy eater (for instance he will eat peas and corn separately on the same plate, but not peas and corn mixed together), the son did not eat vegetables (except potatoes ... he is a Highlander, after all) and the daughter is a vegan - that mixed in with me, a vegetarian and DH who cannot take lactose, it was an interesting visit!

That to me would be a nightmare Marina but I’m sure you coped very well with satisfying all their needs.

A fun day in your kitchen Margaret, what a great connection you have with the girls.

I made some Oat Crisps today. I ran out of cherries so used some slivered almonds as well.  Both DH and DS like these.
