Judy, I read Ral your post about plumbing.  He asked when you were coming over to stay.  ;) ;)
About 6 months ago we had a picnic by the dam with some good friends. It was between lockdowns. We have just arranged to have a BBQ on Cup Day with same friends.

Ha ha, has Ral got jobs planned for me Chookie? Let’s hope my visit will be early next year, all being well.

Take your plumbing tools Judy. 😀😀😀😀😀😀
That sounds lovely Chookie.
DH has gone helping ‘little old ladies’ again this morning. I was going to ring my brother and go out to see him, but I’ve just remembered DD has a delivery coming that must be handed over personally. Oh well another day.
I might make some SD crackers.

DH has been working on a little trailer to put behind the old Ute. I’m not sure there is any reason, other than ‘he can.’

Cookie, how absolutely adorable.
Judy, we can’t wait.  Yesterday, when we were out, we realised how restricted we have been. We took morning tea and lunch but ate both in the car. We sat in the Main Street of 2 country towns and watched the people. Sad. We actually saw a lady who we often had breakfast with at a Lygon street restaurant.

The carpet layers have finished laying the carpet and I am very pleased with the my choice of carpet and the work that was done.  DIL arrived this morning not long after they had left and vaccumed all the floors made the beds and has put most of the boxes back in the rooms they came from.  I will empty them and cull some things over the next week or two.

It was nice of DIL to give you a helping hand Margaret. I love the smell of new carpet.

It will feel like a new house Mab.
You have a lovely DIL.
I popped down to my little Italian green grocer this morning, hoping to buy some cheap tomatoes, but sadly they didn't have any. I want to make some more passata. Our pizzas taste awful with bought stuff on them. The price of tomatoes is ghastly at the moment. Almost $10/kg. Is it the same over there? I guess it will reduce as the warmer weather arrives.
I then did my grocery shopping.

Cookie ,  most fruit and veggies are very expensive  at the moment, that is if you can get  them.
I bought 2 common tomatoes, $1.20.

This morning I did the finishing touches to the spring cleaning of the 2 spare bedrooms, I took advantage of 2 fine days to get all the bedding washed. I spent all afternoon going through a filing  cabinet drawer full of recipes I’d torn out of magazines for many years. Culled 3/4 of them and only kept recipes I think might be suitable now. Recycle bin is pretty full for pick up this week.

What is it about recipes ... collecting them is almost an obsession - you have to be very brave to throw them out!  I recently culled mine, they were all on plain A4 size paper so I put them in the office recycling tray and used them for printing out unimportant documents in the office ... but I kept seeing all the recipes on the reverse side as I ran them through the printer and wondered a) why on earth did I save and print this out to start with and b) what did I think I was doing throwing that recipe out so I kept it!

Yes collecting recipes is an obsession. I keep looking at the large file I have and think I will deal with that tomorrow. Oh, and the books !! Now with the new ovens, a whole new ball game. More recipes already.
Last night I prepared all our dinner and placed it in the warming drawer. Excellent. Fish grilled, stir fried veggies and noodles and pancakes. Dinner was very late as Ral was fixing up a perch for new girls.
Today I will try muffins in Steam oven.  Neighbours will be happy.
Although happy with microwave egg, I tried one in steam oven.  Even better. More evenly cooked. The new microwave doesn’t have a turntable. Just a flat glass tray. I think with a very small item this may not be the best design. The steam oven egg is slower but more gradual even temperature.
