Mmsie, you are doing so well.
I,m having a harder time. Week 11 I only spent $29, but week 12 I spent a whopping $243. This was partly becouase my meat supplies were really low, and partly because it was the last growers market for a couple of weeks due to the Royal Show. I stocked up on milk, cheese, fruit and veggies.
This week is not looking good as I spent about $70 at the supermarket today mainly on lollies, chocolate, chips and soft drink as I have party bags to make up and two parties to cater for on the weekend. I still need to do the food shopping >:(

Emma you are doing really well. I told you it was fun. I try & cook one new recioe per week too, I have cookbooks everywhere ;D plus always more on order ???  We had chicken & sweetcorn soup last night, really cheap, chicken frames & few things in pc, used just over 1 litre of stock, 1 can creamed corn & 1 chicken breast. Fed the 3 of us perfectly with home made bread. How cheap is that ;D garlic paste goes in everything too, somtimes umami, havet made the salt yet, must do at some stage.

Also like to use some of the curry pastes as marinades for bbq chicken kebabs.

ES, take off your meat, remember mine doesnt include eat, only deli items.

I think I am going to add all my weeks & see what the average is, why dont you do that ES, its a good idea of Micheles.

DH doig a bbq on sat night for us, he wants drumsticks & thighs. Previously I  would have gone out & bought them, I said no you can cut up a chicken. Its all about thinking what we have & how to use it. :D

I have a few more things to buy this seek, milk & yoghurt is my problem, get through so much of both. Made yoghurt yesterday so hope its set.

Happy savings everyone ;D

OMG Hally, what a month for you!!! :o :o :o

Maybe you could start saving a special fund for Christmas that won't be counted as part of your usual shopping?
