Obbie and hally, if you don't mind me asking how much does your beef work out to per kg?

Jude, i'm sure the meat will be great. We ar just a bit too fussy with meat but that is changing as we are using the pc more and I'm happy to use up cheaper cuts of meats I would never have dreamed of cooking a little while ago.

I notice a huge difference in cost when I buy my fruit & veg from Aldi vs Coles/WW. (we also go through a lot of fruit & veg)

It's very disturbing to have an empty space in the wine rack or the wine fridge for that matter :)

The grass fed I've bought is a bit more expensive than Hally's price per kg isnt it.  Was yours prepacked and delivered to your door too Hally? and how many kilos did you buy???  Now to find some free range chicken bulk buy places.

Hi Jude, no one should have empty spaces in the wine rack.... :)

Our IGA had chicken on special for 2 weeks, I bought up then.

That would make me nervous Jude.

Gretchen, I'd definitely try and get the refund for being charged incorrectly for the celery.

I used to buy just enough sticks of celery that I needed but now buy a half or a full one, slice it as soon as I get home and bag it up for soups and casseroles - it's perfect for them, no waste, always have some on hand and it cooks quicker once frozen too.

I also buy seasonal fruit & vegies - if I think a vegie is overpriced then I don't buy it.  We eat a lot of potatoes, go through as many eggs as I need to use, sometimes 3 dozen in 2 weeks, I generally cook a meal which serves 4 (although time and time again I tell myself I am not going to do that) so it means we always have leftovers in the fridge.  I make a lot of soups in winter, cheap and filling. Breakfast is cereal or toast and I have the occasional egg but never anything flash as I just want to get that meal over and done with as quickly as possible.  No such thing as a leisurely breakfast in this house.  I sometimes don't even sit to eat it, I stand at the bench if it's an egg or if toast I have it with the computer/forum. To me the coffee is the star of my breakfast. My pantry is still very full because if I use something, it goes on my shopping list to be replaced and I still can't walk past a piece of meat which has a good price tag - I hate paying full price at any time.  Lately I've been having water with my meals, DH has soft drink with his. I have a cupboard full of alcohol and it's taking forever to go down.  Probably only use no more than 4 litres of milk a week.

I don't even have a wine rack.  Dan Murphy's is not far away.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I buy my wine from a wine club,  Our wine rack holds 16 bottles and there is usually a carton in the spare room, I start to panic when the last carton gets opened  :D :D :D
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!
