I was over this week, DH decided to do some shopping savory shapes, nuts and chips when he went to get some milk, poor thing was missing his junk food. Lol. Total was $135.00 he did buy enough for a couple of weeks.
I am still saving heaps, I have a separate account that I use for everyday stuff, I transfer x amount into that account each fortnight last week I had $250 Left  I am was pretty happy with that as it usually down to only a couple of $ left. Hoping I can have the same or more left next week.

I am the same with the separate account. Used to be depleted every month but now has very healthy balance.

Thanks JD, didnt realise there was so much you could do with a porky pig.

How many kgs is a side?

I really need another freezer, have to talk dh into it.

Dede, why did you get mince & burgers only?

Why not roasts & pok belly.

Pork belly. Who mentioned bork belly? I love pork belly and have a great recipe for really crispy pork belly but it takes a good few days to do it.. Yummy yummy.

Wow 3 chest freezers.

Dh just agreed to another chest freezer. His concern is the electricty account. He says i need to work out how much per year a new freezer would cost to run. Then take in the meat price & cost of freezer to see if it is cheaper.

Love pork belly.

Now if i bought a side, how does the ham come?

No we getting a full pig cut up as normal, and 10kg beef mince and 5kg beef burgers. DH is going to buy a full scotch fillet as well to cut up. Our freezer should look healthy then :)

You could use something like this to work out the running cost. It says it's for water pumps, but if you entered the details for the freezer you're looking at instead, I'm sure it would give you the running cost.

At last I have come in well under budget - only because I was too ill to go to the market yesterday!  Sent DH off to the supermarket to get fruit, etc. with $50.00 and we will be living on my stores from the freezer for the rest of the week.  Bit of a beggar being unwell today as it's our 35th anniversary and I was hoping to treat ourselves out to a nice restaurant for a change - hopefully I'll be better by the end of the week and we can go out for my birthday instead!
