I have become  vigilant looking for any way to save  money these days. Just paid my 1/2 yearly rates  about $1300 , no discount for paying early and a charge if you pay by CC . I find myself taking longer to shop  as I have to check and compare everything. This whole challenge has changed me as a person. I need help . I wonder how I can get a cheap shrink.

I saw a packet of 100 paper serviettes in Woolies  for $4.99 I thought it was a mistake and had to,have a second look.  Then I saw a woman with 2 kids doing a run through and she tossed two packets into her trolley. I nearly wanted to stop her and ask her if she had seen the price. I do not ever use paper as I have a collection of  over 100  serviettes I buy in the op shops. I once got  150 for 10 bucks from a restaurant changing over to another colour. I finally got or sick of them and gave them too friend. I could not believe spending $10 on paper ones.

I may stop shopping all together because it is driving  me nuts being so frugal. LOL!

I feel your pain Gert, I buy my serviettes from the $2 shop or no-name ones, but everything is going up in price and I don't see it getting any better  :-))

I know. I buy the 99c ones in foodland, although I covert the funky ones in Ikea.  Tonight, I made the kids use the hard ones from KFC that I found in the bottom kitchen drawer when I cleaned it out on the weekend!
I'm contemplating passing on the supermarket this week, and waiting until Wed afternoon before I leave for the retreat, and doing two weeks at once. I might not save much money, but I will save time :D

Gert I wonder if that shrink would consider 2 for the price of 1. ;D  I think I am addicted to Super markets and desperately need help. However ,  that said, last week I spent $5 and was trying not to shop this week but spent $42.26.  Pretty good really.

Love it Judy. MInd you the only thing left for Ted will be 4 discounted crapola meals. But he can get the courtesy bus to the local pubs where there is plenty of food.  Bad sad wifey Gert.

I love the idea of the courtesy buses Gretchen.  Great idea if he eats out every day and has someone to talk to in the process.  I love how you can just up and leave him to fend for himself which is how it should be with all partners.

He is hopeless in the kitchen. He can do his own toast and fry an egg . He prefers scrambelled but has not a clue how to do it. At 83 he ain't gunna learn now.

The bus will drive up to the front  door, pick him up and deposit him back for free. good service.

DH said he was very relieved that I had defrosted the freezer and am cooking meals to freeze again.
He is very capable of shopping and is a wonderful cook.
