Chit Chat / Re: Huge Excitement!!!!
« on: August 30, 2011, 10:58:21 am »
Woohoo how lovely of you to think of your mum, I would pay money to see her face when she realises she has one. I have just started( became a demo on Friday) and sold 3 machines at my first demo yesterday so I am half way to buying one for my sister, this is my goal to sell enough machines so I can gift one to my sister who has a young family and cannot afford one right away. You inspired me now to keep on going till i make it happen.

Condiments and Sauces / Re: ZAKUSKA

I did Judy, I halfed the amount of ingredients, replaced the zuchinnis with carrots as that's what my mum's and gramndma's recepie suggested and not added the curry powder as our recipe didn't call for it and both myself and my sister wanted to try and re create that familiar taste and BOY oh BOY did we do it   ;D .
I also added 2 fresh bay leafs to the simmering process. AMAZING !!! However I sent my sister back home to London with half of it and by the time every visitor tasted it I was left with no that much so I need to make more.
The only pain about this recipe is charring the aubergines and peppers on the BBQ then peel them.

It is Amanda I cannot wait!! I am also off for a fabulous family vacation soon and I want to get something sorted out before I leave, however I am aware that IT IS OUR SUMMER holiday so people might be enjoying sun in other parts of the world  ;D. I am sure I will hear something soon.
AND YES I am trawling the threads I nearly died when I found a recipe for zakusca, I was born in the heart of Transilvania and every summer when the veg were dirt cheap and fresh on the market my grandma and my mum used to can this delicious sauce which we used as a spread during winter months. It is absolutely delicious and I think I will attempt this before the stock when I get my thermie LOL.
