Can you use whipping cream to make butter or does it need to be pure cream? I think there will be a few brownes whipping cream containers on sale tomorrow at my local supermarket......as they are close to the use by date.

Chit Chat / developing/changing recipes« on: September 10, 2009, 10:03:24 am »
I am experimenting with an icecream recipe and am pretty excited. How many times do you make a recipe before posting it on the forum to ensure it will work for others? Also what is the deal with taking a process from a recipe and changing the ingredients to make a variation. Is the original developer of the recipe going to get cranky? I would always reference the source...Thanks for reading and giving me your thoughts
Ps what a buzz it is when you come up with an idea for a recipe and you pull it off LOL 63

Jams and Chutneys / Choc Hazelnut spread from the EDC« on: September 08, 2009, 10:08:42 am »
Hi just a question about this recipe. Mine looked and tasted a lot grainier than the pic in the EDC and a lot lighter. Does anyone have any words of wisdom on this?

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / What should I buy in prep for my TMX's arrival ;)« on: August 17, 2009, 03:41:32 am »
I thought it would be great to have a list of what people bought (ingredients wise) once they got their TMX (or use a lot now they have one) so expectent 'parents' could get ready.
LOL I am in the nesting phase of preparing for TMX arrival I guess like...... whole wheat buckwheat whole nuts etc etc I wasn't sure if this sort of thing existed and wasn't sure how to search for it Thanks M 67
Chit Chat / Does anyone have a kitchenaid as well as a TMX....« on: August 05, 2009, 03:03:52 pm »
The only reason I ask is because I already have a kitchenaid which I love . More an out of interest question really as I don't plan on getting rid of her when I get my TMX.

Introduce Yourself / Hi *waves* from Perth WA« on: August 04, 2009, 02:55:09 pm »
Hellooooo my name is Meagan (if you didn't already guess )
I found my way here through a friend on nappycino (an Australian cloth nappy forum) who invited me to her TMX demo and then another friend who lead me to the blog The Kitchen Playground and as a result a whole lot of other TMX blogs and here I am keen on buying a TMX, just getting the funds together. We had a demo last Thursday night and DH is now convinced so I am just trawling the forum and doing heaps of reading. I am interested in doing demos myself but have two small children one of which is breast fed and only 6 months old so still quite attached to me. Anyway that turned into a long intro |
