Hi from New Zealand
« on: November 09, 2012, 06:56:13 pm »
Hi all,
I'm here to get my thermo-fix until my new baby arrives...just ordered on Tuesday, and trying to be patient.  We have been wanting one since we first saw one while on holiday in Perth four and a half years ago! TM wasn't available in NZ then, so it's been a long wait, and so excited to know it will soon have pride of place on my bench, at last.

I have 2 young kids (5 and almost-3), and looking forward to making our family lots of delicious food.  We all demolished the sorbet and custard and other goodies that our demonstrator showed us. Hoping to find lunchbox ideas and just general family meals.

My husband is most looking forward to getting rid of all the other kitchen gadgets - bread machine, cake mixer, scales....

Looking forward to sharing and testing lots of delicious recipes here!

x
Jo

Hi Jo, welcome to the forum from an ex-pat Kiwi (Wellington area) - where are you living?

The TMX is a wonderful machine, you will find loads of recipes, ideas and inspiration here.  As we have said on this forum before, now is the time to give your home a good clean and stock up your larder because, once your TMX arrives all you are going to want to do is cook!  Think about the first couple of recipes you want to try and make sure you have all the ingredients to hand.  You are going to have a wonderful time.

Cuilidh - I'm a Welly girl too. Currently in Petone.

Obbie, lalala, not listening....SO don't need more things to spend money on. I'm a bit of a crafty gadget fiend so have o force myself to just that "little" addiction...
I'll stick with just checking out those lunchbox ideas for the moment.

welcome Jo,   don't get rid if your bread machine just yet.  There are a couple of good recipes here for bread kneaded in TMX and baked in Bread Machine.

Hi Jo and welcome!!  You'll find all the help and advice you'll ever need here cooking with your TMX.  I thought I'd be getting rid of lots of appliances collected over the years but . . ;D . .I do find having a set of digital scales handy.  Look forward to hearing how you're getting along with your much awaited kitchen friend . .!! :D

Jo - You are right in my back yard - or maybe I am in yours ... I'm from Lower Hutt (near Hutt Central School, if it still exists).
