this is how i organise my spices...very easy to grab and i like the look of it...tins bought at ikea and the board at an office shop...i have three like this but you can get magnetic boards in silver at ikea also just they werent what i was looking for..

at the moment the cooking books are overtaking spice space but they will soon be in another bookcase lol

That spice rack looks, great Frozzie.  I might try to organise something like that; it's so easy to see at a glance what you've got and the quantities, it looks like one those obvious and brilliant solutions that you wonder why no one thought of it before!  Did the board come ready drilled with the holes cut to size?

If it's like the ones sold here it is just a flat board.  The containers have magnets on the bottom to stick to the board.

They were originally developed for office use - hung on cubicle partitions and the "cans" held color-coded pushpins, paper clips of various sizes and other little things that so easily get lost in desk drawers.

Mag boards are available in many sizes and finishes and can even be covered with thin decorative fabric and still work.

There are numerous types of application - hanging "screens" of flat metal strips, rotating panels on a base that sits on a counter and so on.

The magnetic tins are sold separately and do come in different sizes.

The disappointment of the day has to be collecting my much awaited icecream maker form Kitchenware Direct only to find a much smaller box - contents purchases from strawberry net.  I am a frequent flyer with SN and NEVER have I had to collect from AAE, always collect at PO, so naturally thought that the icecream maker was waiting to be claimed, now all I can do is

Got my self a mini loaf pan from Spot light , only $15 and makes 8 mini loafs. Now what to make?

Spent over 3 hours assembling my Ikea drawers this morning - no real hassles just a very slow process. I have now removed all the spices from the pantry and am about to start filling up my drawers. This is the pile I have to work with.
