Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Low Carb - Chicken Drummettes
« on: December 20, 2012, 10:16:14 pm »
Had these for dinner last night although instead of drummettes I jointed and marinated a whole chicken.

The marinade is quick and easy to make up and was really tasty on the chicken.  As my chicken pieces were larger, I needed to cook the chicken for longer.  I might even try cooking the chicken on the BBQ next time.

Sorry, no photo  :(

I've made cauliflower rice a few times now since getting my TMX although I do it the reverse way to Alyce.  I put raw cauliflower into the TMX bowl and process on speed 4-5, reverse until it resembles rice (doesn't take long), then I steam it in the basket.

It makes a nice alternative to rice.

Lovely note JD.

I've been doing some mosaic today.  I started a garden pot project about 18 months ago and decided if I finished it off I could give it to my mum for christmas.  I've been procrastinating and now I am worried I am going to run out of time.

Mmmm, maybe I NEED a soda stream.  I haven't looked at them before because I don't drink a lot of soft drink but do drink a lot of soda water.  I am guessing it ends up being more economical to use the soda stream rather than buy the bottles from the supermarket.  Perhaps Santa will bring me one.

This is a really nice cookbook and would make a great christmas present.  Like Quick Fix in the Thermomix, every recipe has its own double page - one for the recipe, one for the photograph.  The thing I like about all of Alyces' recipes is that they are uncomplicated and use ingredients that most of us probably already have in the panty.  That means you can start cooking straight away...

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Low Carb - Coconut and Lemon Macaroons
« on: December 19, 2012, 12:55:39 am »
I am not sure about these ones....

They were very quick and easy to make but mine have turned out a little too tangy.  Could be that my lemon was particularly juicy but next time i'd probably only put half the lemon zest in as well.

I do love the fact that there is no sugar in these (only a pinch of stevia) as everything else I cook these days seems to be laden with the stuff  :o

Looks delicious CP.  Can't wait for the final verdict as this is another on my 'to do' list.

Had this smoothie for breakfast today - it is a very rich and decadent drink, perfect for this time of year!

I didn't have any flaxseeds so I added some chia seeds instead.  My smoothie was thick and delicious and it is the kind of drink that should keep you feeling satisfied for many hours.

When I bought my Thermie (Oct I think), someone had gone through the EDC with a black marker to remove all the references to 'holding the MC in place with the other hand'.  Not sure if this is something Head Office do before distributing the machines or whether each consultant has to do it prior to each delivery.
