Chit Chat / Re: What are you cooking today?
« on: September 04, 2011, 09:48:56 pm »
Forgot to add that I found time to cook as well go to the farmers market and weed a couple of garden beds.

Made the savoury version of CADA from Steph's blog on here which is delicious, I made the smoky lentil goulash again, and substituted some of the sweet paprika with smoky paprika, then I went on to the Frozen Mango Bars.  I used coconut cream for these and took them out of the freezer shortly before they were frozen totally and they were very easy to cut into slices and they tasted gorgeous - my DH and I ate far too many of them, but there are still some left over.  I also made the orange and zucchini risotto, which was a bit too orangey for my taste, but still gorgeous and also made some of the lemon concentrate cleaner to finish off the day.

I went to a local farmer's market yesterday and there was a cup cake stand so I just HAD to stop to have a good look at them and, honestly, Maddy, Hallie and all you other cup cake experts out there, your cakes looked MILES (or should I say kilometres?) better than those on the stand.  I didn't buy one to taste, I simply went on appearance.

By the way I do not mean to be derogatory about the woman who had gone to all that work, she did a wonderful job - I know I certainly couldn't even hope to prepare sufficient cup cakes to keep a stall running for four hours at a market.  As I said, my comments were simply made on the appearance - and I guess I am also biased towards the presentations that I have seen on the forum.

Chit Chat / Re: Germany's Next Top Thermomix Consultant!!!

So pleased to hear your decision to become a consultant - I think, considering your enthusiasm, it was inevitable that you would take this step and we all know you (and Ed, as I don't think he is wanting to be left out of all of this) will be a great success.  Don't forget to keep in touch with us all, though, as your posts on this forum have been wonderful and we all look forward to your next forum 'instalment'.

Hopefully my DH recorded Dr Who for me as I missed it - I've got to admit that I am finding it hard to accept David Tennant's replacement.  Time travel and the TMX is a good combination - gives us lots more time to do more and more cooking!

That is a beautifully decorated cake, Monica.  It always seems a shame to me that these superb creations are made to be, ultimately, cut up but I bet they are enjoyed by everyone.

Good luck with that Frozzie - would love to see a pic. of the finished cake (before it is eaten, if possible!)

That sounds terrible, but don't stress, that just makes things worse for you, Ed and Teirmie.

Were you able to completely separate the bottom grey part from the jug and remove the blade assembly?  If so, just gently replace the blade assembly correctly into the jug then line the bottom grey part up (sometimes you may need to play with it a bit to make sure it is sitting correctly) then turn it to click into the correct position.  Not sure if that will help as it's not clear whether or not you were able to separte the bottom part from the jug.  Hopefully, as Australia wakes up, one of the more experienced consultants or users will come onto the forum and have other ideas and / or options for you to try.

Good luck.

How could I have missed this?  Even though today is the 2nd of Spring and only just starting to warm up, I'm still going to make these this weekend.  I simply cannot resist the temptation!

Cooking certainly crosses many boundaries - everyone loves to eat!!  I've got to admit, Chocolate Brownies would pull me in every time!  I remember a friend of ours when we lived in Hong Kong was working as a nanny and a lot of her 'play time lessons' were based on cooking - there are all sorts of skills involved.  Keep up the good work.

As they say in America ... "you go girl!!!" - or at least I THINK they say it in America - according to a trashy novel I once read they certainly said it!!!!

Hope you had / have a great birthday.

Vegetarian / Re: Smoky Lentil Goulash
« on: August 31, 2011, 10:00:24 pm »
Have just made this and found it a bit too sweet so will substitute some of the sweet paprika with smoky paprika (also, my liquid smoke didn't have a very strong taste so perhaps the smoky paprika will bring it out a bit more).  Also added a "skloosh" worcestershire sauce and the whole dish was very tasty.  Definitely looking forward to doing this again with my wee tweeks.  I think this will become one of my freezer staples.

PS  Bet you didn't know that skloosh is a precise measurement of any sort of volume of any sort of liquid or solid!!!
