I also remember Bruce and Mandy - hope they are keeping well.  We had friends over for dinner last night as well, a very pleasant and enjoyable change to the norm.

I doubt that Bruce and Mandy will go cruising again.  Bruce had serious health problems a couple of years ago.  Depending how this virus goes, we might travel with them to Mildura or somewhere similar.  We have travelled  a lot with them and get on really well. We did lots of laughing today and put the world to rights.

It sounds like wonderful therapy was had by all Chookie.

There’s nothing like a good laugh and good friends Chookie.                                                                 Today I went to the gym, went shopping for food and clothes, had my eyes tested (and now have to see the Opthalmologist in a couple of weeks’ time) then popped in to see a friend.  A full day.

So nice to be able to have friends over again.

We have done quite a bit of cruising in the last 2 years. We had a Great Barrier Reef one booked for September that has been cancelled. They offered us $900 onboard credit if we rebooked another cruise. DH wanted to rebook but I filled in the form for a full refund.

It is nice to be social again. I don’t mind being in Iso , get so much done, but do miss the social interaction.
Today I am making Thermomixer’s Quince paste. Also Quince jelly.  The different type of Quinces are not as strong in flavour and have a slight Apple taste. I have some traditional Quinces for the paste.  The other I will use for the Jelly.  I can’t wait to see how the new labels look. Will post photo.
Michele, I agree with you about the Cruising.

One of our customers is amazing - every day during the lock down she has been posting something with a silver lining on her facebook page - be it a picture of someone's teddy bear in a neighbour's window or some small gift of veges or flowers someone has left on her doorstep, so I am going to try to post a silver lining post each day (Monday - Friday only) on here - and for a week only because I think I may run out of inspiration after that  ;D.

Getting started (this is a two-in-one post):

Yesterday I bought a new Samsung super duper phone because I required one to interact with the ATO through their new bright idea and my 5 month old Nokia was not smart enough to do this.

Today's silver lining is that my new phone is working with the ATO's newest bright idea.  YAY!!

(now to search for Monday's silver lining!)

It's nice to be able to mix again with friends and family.  Being isolated didn't worry me very much as I don't go out much anyway but being able to have a friend visit is nice.

Marina, I'm look forward to your silver lining posts.

Marina, love the silver lining idea.  Go for it.
Think I have developed FOGO.  Fear of going out.  I keep making excuses not to go shopping.

Oh Chookie, that doesn't sound like you at all - you must get out before you become house bound and your reservations hold you back from getting out and about.

I love the idea of the silver lining posts Marina. Shall we make a new spot for them?

I'll copy. Today DD and I went to a new Cheesemaker that has opened up about 6km away from us. He makes mainly fresh cheeses and you can watch.
We bought Burrata, Ricotta and fresh mozzarella. They taste awesome. I will have to limit my visits, although there is a Source foods next door to it. ;D ;D

I have FOGO too Chookie . But had to today , oh it took most of the day . DS was very understanding he said I won’t die mum ( left to do school and feed himself for most of the day ) . Truly if it wasn’t DH Birthday tomorrow I would have stayed home . Bonus or silver lining, a dear  friend has this great homewares/food shop and there sitting on its own was a tiny passion fruit sponge cake , now I can take it on our paddock picnic .

Thank you for posting this Chookie. I’m in the same boat. I haven’t been out for 9 weeks.

Well done KAtie for going out.

We are having a delivery of small goods today.  Last time they came, the delivery man had his little son with him.  The poor little fella was most unhappy.  I will make a small bag of biscuits for him today.  Last time I gave them some jam.  Not much good to eat in the truck.
Glad others are experiencing FOGO.  Not nice but we will get over it.
