CHRISTMAS / Re: Christmas Pudding with carrots - achookwoman« on: December 02, 2009, 10:09:04 am »
This lovely pudding could feed the reindeer as well as the rest of us.
Chookie, it looks lovely. Mum used to use oven bags when she made hers for a few years, but then she returned to calico-which I still use. It's all stained etc. I CANNOT make a lovely round pudding though. Perhaps I should shape it in a bowl. Then the family would have no laughs, better stay with my weird shapes, they have become tradition. 35614

CP63, did you use fresh or frozen blueberries for these?

Bread / Re: Lupins« on: December 02, 2009, 09:58:10 am »
I gave them a minute, but I think in hindsight it should have been more. I checked and it seemed fine, but once the dough was made I can see tiny pieces of lupin. It is the most lovely yellow colour and looks as though it could be a bit heavy. Will see how we go.

I am glad to hear that 'the vermins'. I had been thinking about you and thought if money is tight it may be a good idea to wait awhile. Perhaps you could try and put aside a little money a week (could be hard at this time of the year) and then after 6-12 months show your DH what you have saved and have another discussion re the thermomix. Perhaps even involve him in the saving. A little each week will add up to quite a lot.
If you have a read of the discussion on Taste.com.au and look under ingredients and equipment in the thermomix thread you will see that quite a few people can't manage one straight up and are saving, little by little. I'm pleased to read that you and your DH sorted it out. A happy marriage is a rarity these days, hang on to it. 35621
CHRISTMAS / Re: Christmas Class« on: December 02, 2009, 01:29:36 am »
I'll have to try some in the pizza maker. Like Thermomixer I had recently seen pretzels using the lye solution in a book. I wanted to make them but wasn't risking the lye solution. I may try some with and some without the carb soda to see the difference. I'll report back when I do them. It won't be for a few days at least. I need some of those 28 hour days at the moment.
