Everything seems to taste better when you haven't had to cook it. :)
We rushed out to a talk on Solar power on the roof last night
ROFL.
Maddy I think I'm going to move to your house!!
Happy anniversary Maddy! :D
last night i made lasagne too and DS18 happened to say - if i could comment it would probably be "too cheesy". needless to say i shot him down in flames because it was 10/10 and I had worked all day and everyone was starving, he was lucky to get a home cooked meal and didn't ask for his stupid comment!Bet that silenced him ;) ;) Might have to cook for himself and not have mum's yummy food placed in front of him. (I'm happy to take his place at your table CP63- your food is fantastic)
It's a great way to use up leftovers but it's been years since I made it. When I was a kid, it was always a roast on Sunday and shepherd's pie on Monday nights. It must have been an universal menu for the weekend, as it was the same in our house. :D
Monster burgers & chips

For desert the Apple Crisp from MWOC topped with Isi's dulce de leche.Woerd, which recipe do you mean here - can't find Apple Crisp in the index. Do you mean the apple crumble?
Oh yes please. Can you roll that maddy or do you eat it with a knife and fork?
We had butter chicken tonight using some sauce & rice I had in the freezer - nice and quick after being out all day.
Maddy how do you do your refried beans?
Once bought a can and the kids hated them.

Today I have planned to cook Turkey, thyme and leek meatloaf. I will have to call it "Turkey Bake" to get it passed DH. :D :D I will let you know if my deception works. ;)
I did get the Turkey, thyme and meatloaf passed my DH , but I did make his favourite of roast potatoes to go with it and he liked the "turkey bake".I'm in Buckinghamshire Nik, so the floods didn't affect us and my family in Cornwall live in Falmouth and Truro so they were fine.Today I have planned to cook Turkey, thyme and leek meatloaf. I will have to call it "Turkey Bake" to get it passed DH. :D :D I will let you know if my deception works. ;)
Must be a British thing because I've got one of those too! Or perhaps its a Southern thing as we're only up the coast in Dorset - you flooded btw?
We have a birthday in the house today - Isaac is 6 and its always been tradition that we go to Pizza Hut on birthdays .... Its a tradition I'd like to change but since daddy is away working and some friends weren't available for a "tea" I didn't think this was the right time :)
I have great plans for a belated birthday tea on Saturday but I guess I'll have to wait until then and update this thread as necessary :D Suffice to say Thelma will be working VERY hard all afternoon on Saturday
Nik
Hi,Sounds great can u post details for us newbies! Ta
just thought I'd start a new thread to see if it's helpful. For those of us not usually organised enough to do a meal plan, but thinking one day ahead / on the day :D
I'm planning to do a stir fry turkey dish tonight (coconut, ginger and lemongrass sauce) in the TMX tonight, with steamed jasmine rice. I only hope that fussy DD1 likes it!

Maddy, would you mind terribly much letting us know what was in the red curry chicken risotto? It looks to be right up my alley!
:)
Maddy, unfortunately can't do Curtis, lol. But the recipe is here
http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4722.0
If I wanted the recipes for these gorgeous dishes you are posting, do I just do a search up the top?
:o :o :o

Yep, do that..... or for the TM recipes made for dinner.....we could try and remember to post the link to that particular recipe used when we post ;)
Ummmmm.... How do you post the link???? :-\
I have been meaning to buy one of those tart tins but have been undecided about the long skinny ones or the wider ones. Looks like you have a wider one maddy?
We had your sweet pizza using pita bread, quince paste and Castello White which Foodland threw out for $1.99 today. Have always wanted to do a sweet one and it was nice for a change -
(and frozen veg)Now that's keen!!

speaking of gnocchi..over here they have a version you can cook in the pan and i much prefer that to standard gnocchi..has anyone ever tried cooking the THX version in the frypan or does that not exist in oz??? Maybe you need to make it first then once cooled recook it in the pan??? probably wouldnt work and just stick to the pan??

Do you cook it in the sauce in a pan? Or just cook the gnocchi in the pan.
Frozzie I've had pan fried gnocchi in a restaurant. Its definately worth giving it a try I think you'd need to use a reasonable amount of olive oil. I'm quite sure the recipe would be the same boiled or pan fried.
Get well soon Maddy and get Hubby out of the kitchen!!! ;D :-*
We are having chicken breasts in tomato sauce with mushrooms and pasta (recipe from the forum) for dinner. I will be having a little serve of pasta with lots of steamed veg as I'm shedding some extra kilos at the moment. I have lost 3kg now - 5 more to go! Woohoo! So much more energy for cooking now!!! ;D ;)
Tonight was lemony chicken pasta (will type up later ;))
Zan.....would you pretty please type up your yorkshire pud conversion? I'm led to believe their quite finicky, but yours look like they turned out perfectly!
I made homemade fettucine for the fist time. I made cannaloni the other day and it was such hard work with the rolling pin that I went out and bought a pasta roller thingy! I made a creamy, bacon, mushroom and broccoli sauce in the saucepan and OMG it was delicious!!
I also made rhubarb and apple to have with yoghurt for breakfast.
Maddy I'd love your slow cooked mexican chicken recipe please, I'm drooling here!!
Blimey Maddy, what a whopper of a burger, looks gorgeous. My DH would adore it. ;D
- you don't see the thighs with bone in very much these days.
I was a little taken aback at the amount of chicken used in the recipe but when I read on I realized it's to cover two meals, which is even better ;)
I made a risotto tonight, only the 3rd time I've made one and I forgot to set on Reverse speed :-)) Of course it turned out more gluggy than it should have
JulieO can you please tell me what recipe you used for your Cobb Loaf, it looks devine!
Maddy which recipe did you use for those gorgeous subs?
I'm going to try Maddy's Red Curry Chicken Risotto.Oh! Forgotten about that recipe Judy, thanks for bumping ;) ;D
That's a favourite in our house Judy quite hot though
We had pizza... from eagle boys lmaoHave I missed a post somewhere Snoozie? ??? Are you Ok?
Bed rest sucks. :-))
JulieO's Family Chowder and Toasted Sandwiches. I'm having a can't be bothered day. Thanks heavens for thermie! ;)
haha chelsea im having a cant be bothered month..dont know whats wrong with me but just cant seem to get inspired..pathetic i know!
Is that a TMX cooked meal maddy, looks delicious.
...and I even managed to make some good old fashioned dumplings in the Varoma. I'll post the photo and recipe later.
wouldn't mind doing something with pears as I've got quite a few to use. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Tonight I'm going to do a vegetarian chilli to use up all the odd veggies I've got hanging around. We're off to France on Monday for a week so I'm trying to avoid having to throw anything out.Have a great holiday in France, will look forward to hearing what you cooked. ;D
Can't wait - and the friends we are staying with have now got a Thermomix so we should be cooking up a storm. ;) ;)

Where abouts in France katya??
Home made pasties ;D made with left over casserole. I am gobsmacked that ds4yrold gobbled up two mini ones with a side of Brussels sprouts after flat out refusing to eat the casserole the other night telling me he 'didn't like that dinner' :o and before anyone comments, he loves Brussels sprouts and often asks me for them when we go shopping he was professing his love for them at the checkout today and the lady behind me said wow :o you dont hear that very often lol :D
Where abouts in France katya??
St Brieuc, Brittanny. Going on Eurostar which is always fun.
you talked about cooking lamb shanks (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=907.0) back in 2009. what is the maximum time you can cook something in the TM I wonder at low temp? I am sure there is probably a cut off time.
I bought the friends we are going to see a Thermie travel bag for Christmas and it cost more than 40 Euros... I'll be sick as a parrot if yours turns out to be the same as mine :D :D
If it is the same, I think it is wrong that items can be priced so differently from one country to another. When Frozzie posts the picture Katya - don't look at it!
Maddy the mushroom sauce looks divine. What recipe did you use?
Do you really buy 7.5kg at a time :o :o :o :o
Do you really buy 7.5kg at a time :o :o :o :o
I guess they really liked it. LoL
Some people are rude, aren't they!! Well we'll just have to keep an eye out for each other! :-* :-*
They look nice maddy, is the recipe anywhere other than in your head.
a big pot of Scotch Broth made the "traditional" way
Don't you hate lending anything that doesn't come back quite the same :'( :'(
You lovelies have made me VERY nervous
I make our own dough and we cook it untopped for a bit first. (in the pizza maker)
I use the EDC recipe Maddy.
Last night I made a lovely cooking sauce, only took 10 secs to make in the TM. It contained roasted red capsicum, red onion, garlic, smoked paprika, red wine vinegar, sambal, olive oil, salt & pepper and a little brown sugar. I poured it over a butterflied chicken and baked. When it was cooked I spooned some of the lovely stuff over the top to serve.

Hubby is in charge of our Sunday night dinners now. Steak, eggs and fried potatoes are on the menu tonight. ;) ;D
That's different maddy
How did you do the eggs Maddy? yummo!
Making Quirky Jo's fried rice
what pizza base recipe do you generally use Maddy? :) :)
We had my versatile lentil sauce which we haven't had for ages, sorry don't know how to do links. Served with EDC mash, half potatoes and half sweet potatoes. I use less liquid with sweet potatoes or it ends up like purée and reminds DH of baby food, he won't touch it!!

Hope this helps together with Frozzie's advice. :) :)
OK Robyn I can work out the time it was for you but Frozzie what time was it for you please? Early/mid morning??
Zan that looks so yummy.
That's what I'd do foodiepep but if the food isn't moving, I'd up the speed to 1.
Chelsea's Beef Stroganoff (http://fulllittletummies.blogspot.com/2010/06/filling-tummies-with-beef-stroganoff.html) it is a favourite in this house, similarly for all who have tasted this delish dish :) :) - cooking as I post :) :)
Love ribs, they look very meaty maddy.
CC looks really good. Could I trouble you for the recipe please?Certainly,I will PM the recipe to you Julie. :)
Judy, that looks really tasty I must say. ;D
Roast chook, smashed potatoes and steamed veg tonight. :)Same here Chelsea :)
What about chocolate, peppermint Or vanilla ice-cream for dessert Dede :D :D :D :D :D Just saw your stash on another topic ;) ;)
I know what you mean Dede, there is nothing like Apple Crumble with vanilla ice- cream. ;D ;DWhat about chocolate, peppermint Or vanilla ice-cream for dessert Dede :D :D :D :D :D Just saw your stash on another topic ;) ;)
lol CC, I just felt like something hot to have with some ice cream. I very really have ice cream on its own, And I think that having something hot with ice cream makes you feel warm on these cold frosty nights, but ice cream on its own makes me feel even colder (If that makes sense)
We went to the Good Food and Wine show and we so full of all sorts of goodies that I couldn't be bothered cooking. Had some nice sorbet at the TMX stand. ;D ;D
With your homemade tortillas? Yet to try them
Last night of eating out, so better make it very special......
Broccoli and cheese soup (forum) and toasted sandwiches. It is a "can't be bothered tea" (although the soup is rather delish). :)
Lasagna & Dede's Boston Bun
First time making the Boston Bun - it looks and smells lovely :)
I don't think I'll tell my partner it has mashed potato in it until after he's eaten it!!
Hi,Hi where can I find this sauce recipe or did you make it up? I need a good sauce with chicken
just thought I'd start a new thread to see if it's helpful.
Kulaks, do you get much use out of the actifry? I looked at buying one to replace an almost dead deep fryer but couldn't justify the money when I wasn't sure how much I would use it.
JulieO I'd love it if you could forward me your chicken mole recipe, it looks great and I need to use the pc more.
pmsl faffa_70, well at least the poor lamb always knew his ending.
"It was cranberry & pine nut pilaf, with glazed pork. " Is that a TMX recipe maddy - tell us where it is so that we can NOT do it ;) ;)
Nothing, going out on strike in sympathy with a fellow forum member. Did the ironing and they should be grateful I did that. No, really we had leftovers from the freezer, everyone had to get their own. I am thinking of pulling a strike though.....two and half hours of ironing.
Just for interest sake, time how long it takes from the moment you sit down...until you mention something about them??? Try to abstain from saying something from as long as possible, but I would be interested :D
:D Roast lamb, veges, and a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate with.
Robyn
We had Chelsea's Tuna strudel tonight as well with TM puff pastry. I'm afraid to say we really didn't like the pastry and found it very rich. As for the Tuna strudel that was quiet nice although we didn't get to really enjoy it because of the pastry. I would like to make it again but with pre rolled pastry or find another recipe to try.
So all in all tonights meal was a failure :(.
I am making an apple crumble now to make up for it.
. Hope you enjoy, looking forward to the pics!!!!!! :) :)
I cook my corned beef in the slow cooker in a bottle of ginger beer and one onion!
I have braised honey-soy-ginger beef on the stove at the moment.
I just hope it turns out tender :-\ smells divine though. I really think my gas is set too high, so I put it on the slowest jet and used a simmer mat as well.......fingers crossed!
Found my fridge had 3 lots of cauliflower in it this morning so it had to be a cauli day here.I presume cauliflower is off the menu for a few weeks Judy :D :D :D
Lunch - Cauliflower & Bacon Soup (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6320.0)
Tea - Pasta & Cauliflower Cheese Bake (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3958.0), adding some bacon this time.
Looks great Maddy could you please post the recipe
Thanks Maddy did you double the 800g of beef or is that already doubled? Thanks will cook soon and let you know how it goes, I am a bit tempted to try it in the slow cooker not sure yet
How come I keep seeing your lovely cakes and you don't need to look in on the diet section whilst I strive to reduce those killer calories and have to restrain myself from looking in the cake section. :( :(
maybe maddy can just post photo's of the cakes in the Diet section :D
Chelsea's creamy garlic prawn risotto (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=7006.0) with steamed carrot and broccolini - delish and so quick after arriving home late form work!Mmm that looks yummy .

Polenta with salami and three cheeses
Lamb roast tonight with roast vegies. EDC mint sauce though. I don't have mint growing so I am trying to encourage a couple of the bits I bought to grow roots in a glass of water so that I can plant it.It's the one herb I grow on a pot Cookie as it's a pest if left to itself in the ground., comes up everywhere :P
Sounds great. What is the recipe for Vegetable Au-gratin? I would love to try it.All you need to do Bootobethin is to place some steamed vegies in a casserole dish, top with a cheese sauce, sprinkle some breadcrumbs mixed with grated cheese and bake until brown and heated through.
artichokes.....................................my favourite
Fozzie, I make my gnocchi the normal way, drain it and let it dry a little, then heat some butter in a non stick frypan, fry some onions and then add the gnocchi, let them brown nicely before turning them. I serve mine with a spag bol sauce. YumFrozzie I've had pan fried gnocchi in a restaurant. Its definately worth giving it a try I think you'd need to use a reasonable amount of olive oil. I'm quite sure the recipe would be the same boiled or pan fried.
i love it..prefer it to the regular gnocchi..has that bit of crunch and not so soft...mmmm going to have to give it a go and get around to making some..
What do you stuff them with?A breadcrumbs mixture
DS's 14th Birthday today so whipped up a sticky date pudding for dessert (His favorite) ;D
I know what you mean Maddy, Time does go quickly. I cant believe my eldest will have his license in a months time.DS's 14th Birthday today so whipped up a sticky date pudding for dessert (His favorite) ;D
A very Happy Birthday to your boy Dede! :)
My Daughter turned 14 last month, and I cannot believe how quickly that time has passed...... :(........where does it go?
I have never added capers with broccoli, was it nice CC and will you make it again ?We like the recipe Uni and I have made it a few times.I like the capers in it but DH always pushes them to the side of his plate.
I know what you mean fundj, on odd occasions when I am talking I have trouble spitting a particular word out cos I can't think of the exact word. I try and grasp it whatever it is, and know it might start with a certain letter but my brain just struggles. It worries me a bit cos I think is it just menapause or the beginning of something else ???

Made Parmesan Chicken for supper.Recipe from here
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Parmesan-Chicken-105912
Grated the cheese and made the breadcrumbs in the TM.The mustard coating was just enough for 3 chicken breasts, suggest that you double it for 6.Had to guess at weight of breadcrumbs so made 100g.This was enough to coat the three pieces and possibly a fourth.
Delicious. :)
Great Photo Fundj
Thank you Julie, I will def try this soon.
BTW have you ever tried Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef? If not this recipe (http://debskitchencreations.blogspot.com/2009/07/crispy-shredded-beef.html) is lovely and not spicy at all. We've done it twice now and it's been just right.
No I haven't tried it Tarasis, but thanks for the link I may have to do so. ;D
Looks delish as always JO, was it this recipe (http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/23162/pesto+chicken+pasta+with+pumpkin)?Good news CP,let's hope it becomes a regular occurrence. ;)
Fingers crossed this is not the first and last time I say this but...DS19 is making Spaghetti Bolognese from the EDC for tea tonight :o :o :o I have to keep picking myself up from the floor when I think about it (and not because I'm rolling around and laughing - I don't want to tempt fate)
We all have days like that tarasis. i know i do ;D
Tarasis, a lot of us have found that packaged foods which we used to love no longer appeal to us, the consensus is that because we are now used to the taste and texture of food we have prepared ourselves those pre-packaged foods with all the additives and chemicals no longer appeal to us.
Tonight we're having Maddy's Caesar Chicken burgers. They are so yummy.
Thanks fundj. I just love this forum for when we need help with problems we encourage. Much better than google as its much more personal and we trust the source of the information we receive.
Last night I mad Pizzas for dinner. The family devoured 3 large pizzas. I used a pizza tray for one, and the other 2 I used a Pizza stone. Does anyone else know the best way of using pizza stones? I had trouble with the base sticking. I added corn flour to the stone before placing the pizza dough on. Maybe I didn't use enough corn flour. Any help please.
Your forte is obviously Italian food Uni so stick to what you know best and go out for the occasional roast dinner ;)
I made Tarasis's Chinese Crispy Shredded Beef today, was really tasty.
That looks great as usual Julie, what type of meat did you use?
Please remember that the tablespoon measurements in the recipe would equal 3 tsp here in Oz. I also cut down the sugar to about 2 tsp, and only used 1 red chilli. :)
No it hasn't Rob but I can speak to MM and see if he can organise it for us. Good idea, thanks.
Is it worth having a section for non TMX recipes we like, rather than have a whole bunch of interesting recipes hidden in this and the cooking thread which after 90 pages get a little hard to find? Has this been discussed before?
Thanks, thought it was time to move on a couple of years :DDon't kmow about that Judy: you have a very youthful look on your new avatar- lovely :)
Thank you Carine, it's nice that at my age.
Now if it were on the iPhone it would be with me ALL the time ;D
Love the new avatar Tenina. Will the next one have your own book on the top of the pile? Looking forward to the 22nd.hahaha, good idea! See you then :D
Did either of you girls use the TMX for cooking the pasta and making the sauce for Italian broccoli & Salmon bake (http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1398/italian-broccoli-and-salmon-bake?pager.offset=40)?

I made Cornish Creams's Italian broccoli & salmon bake. I used my own dried toms and also home made mascarpone. Really enjoyed it, thanks Cornish for the link. :)

I love reading about all the things we are making from Tenina's Dinner Spinner and the comments. It's a great little 'booklet'.
.....and the boys had 1/2 a cow flame grilled on the bbq with a bucket of onions and leftover potato salad.
Tenina's slow cooked chilli pork on the menu here tonight as well Julie - it was delish. I used 3 fresh chillies - instead of dried chilli, kelpamore instead of dulse flakes (as I didn't have any) and served with a version of fried rice. Dessert was Pineapple passionfruit pavlova - great company was even better!!!! Twitterpated and her DH are in Rocky for the weekend so came for dinner - yahoo!!!! and nobody needed to wear a red hat or purple beads for identification!!!!!Finally home and have had a chance to catch up on all of the posts. The slow cooked chilli pork was a definite 5/5 recipe. So tender and very tasty. The company was great and despite the raised eyebrows we had a great time. We did manage to get caught having a little peek on the forum and the DH's said that they knew we couldn't go a day without having a look. So great to be able to talk TMX with someone and am looking forward to doing it again. Now I have an excuse to go to Rocky so will be looking to do it a little more.
Tenina's Slow cooked chilli pork - Delicious! ;D

Julie, i was just looking for a mango salsa. We have so many ripe mangos at the moment.
I have done mango sorbets, so thanks,
Robyn
;D
:) Fundj, i'll make the frozen mango bars. I forgot about that.
thanks.
Robyn

mini arancini JulieO, smaller than a short black cup
Scotch eggs as a pie. That is boiled eggs in sausage m eat (with lots of vegies in it) in a pie. The recipe is from a BBC Good Food on the ipad. :DDid you enjoy the pie Cookie?
Looks and sounds nice Rara1. I've put a copy of your recipe in All-in-one-Meals (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=8614.0)Thanks Judy x
Did you serve the prawns over pasta Uni?
Julie, your magic behind the camera lens is great, I add your pics wherever I can to a recipe - whether I have taken 1 or not!!!! :D
Carine our chooks aren't laying much at the moment. I get one egg a dy if I am lucky out of 10 chooks. However the I am getting at least 3 duck eggs a day. If I eat too many duck eggs I get really bad stomach aches (worse than labour) and therefore can't use them for quiches etc. They are fine in cakes etc.
Not much cooking here lately as I am too busy with dad and the business. Looking forward to a day at home cooking tomorrow. Hopefully I will find some cheap bananas and other fruit in Coffs today, so I can whip up some new delights.
i opend a bottle of champagne worth $ 150.00 ;D
Too hot and bothered to do much tonight. We had salt and pepper chicken salad wraps (wraps made in thermie). Simple but delicious.
Have you tried this one Wonder.
This is Trudy Olive's
320g plain flour
1teaspn salt
3 tblspns olive oil
1 tspn baking powder
180g warm water
Place everything into the bowl.
Mix 10 seconds on speed 7 to combine.
Set to locked position and knead for 3 mins.
Put dough onto breadmat and rest 5-10 mins.
Divide dough into 12 pieces and roll each piece into a flat round.
Fry in an oiled hot frying pan until they start to brown. Turn them over and cook the other side.
OK to freeze.
Also great for making tortilla chips in the oven with any leftovers.
I haven't actually made them Meagan but JulieO and others have, see here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1645.0) where she says not to cook them too long in the pan or they will not be flexible enough. Bit of reading there ;)
how long did you cook the chicken for maddy to keep it so moist?
Neighbours meant to be doing some hand watering, but probably too hot for him.Welcome home Hally. Did your garden survive :)
H :)
Maddy your meals look delicious!! I would love the recipes please!
Yay dede... Did you find with the thermometer it was alot hotter tan you thought??
JulieO - I am so glad you post photos of the recipes you make and take the time to present your food so beautifully!
They always look so inviting!
Do you take your photos outdoors as it looks like your food is taken in natural light and also the table appears to be an outdoor table?
The EDC says for hard boiled eggs, to cook 4 eggs for 14 minutes at Varoma, but they weren't hard boiled (I used a little egg boiling doovey that goes dark when eggs are cooked), so I had to leave them in the water for another 5 minutes. I used almost 2 litres of water as I wanted them covered. The book says to use 500g at speed 1. This seems like they're steaming, not boiling.

I don't bother using the tm for eggs, I found it took longer.
I bring cold water with eggs to a boil, turn off gas, pop a lid on top and let them sit for 25 mins. Perfect every time.
entree arancinni balls stuffed with boccocini, 1st time I have made these, yummy
main balsamic lamb, parsnip & potato mash with carrots
desert cakesH :)
Very proud of myself, just boned and butterflied my first leg of lamb. One side needs to be bashed out as its much thicker, but happy as I have never done this before.
H :)
JuliaBalbilla's chicken jambalaya. If you haven't tried this it's just fantastic.
Will definitely be cooking this again.
:) Chicken Tikka tonight.

Great idea with the zucchini maddy, it is rather bland without some help. Did it lift it to another level with the garlic paste?
Your Beef and Ale Pie looks fantastic maddy. Is that the Flaky Pastry or bought Puff pastry?
Making honey soy chicken drumsticks, I'm going to pull up a stool near the TM and sit and cook. (legs are killing me) I have discovered that standing on one leg for to long is not very comfortable.Sounds like it will be a very long 6-7 weeks. You need a scooter that you can sit on (Like the stools hairdressers use sometimes)
Think will just have steamed veggies with the chicken tonight.
Can you bend your knee, Dede?
If so, you can put a cushion on a chair seat and "stand" with some of your weight on your bent knee. I used that method a lot when I had my problem and sitting would be too awkward.
My lasagna never looks that good when served on a plate. I find it usually moves around when serving it up and ends up a pile of pasta and meat. (still tastes great though) :)
