It sounds as though you had another fabulous time at Nikkit's and Nerissa's cookery class Cookie. :)

Enjoy the extra work Michele. ;)

Just said goodbye to DB and SIL after their stay last night with us.

The Farmers Market produce swap was amazing on Saturday. As we head for winter I keep thinking that there won't be much on the table. I took bags of SD crumpets, green cherry tomatoes, jam and bay leaves.
I got quinces, Crab Apples, Medlars, rock dust ( fertilizer), beetroot, zuchinni, daffodil bulbs, love in the mist seeds, jam jars  and a magazine with some interesting gardening info for our area. I will make jelly with the Crab Apples and Medlars and return them to the Market. The rock dust is amazing stuff for the garden. I paid $50 for a kilo some months back, and here it was free for swapping.
We finished the Chicken Hilton yesterday and the girls love it. They rewarded us with clean fresh laid eggs.
Today I am making green tomato pickles in the TMX.

The swap idea is truly a lovely idea. I believe a town about 120 km south of Perth does a similar thing

Cookie, there are 4 Farmers Markets in our group. 2 have Swaps.  The Woodend one is the best. This is due to Helen who organizes it. She sends out a reminder a few days prior to remind everyone and if anyone needs something like jam jars she advertises this. It is quite amazing what people bring. Always something different. 2 little girls bring Anzacs and cup cakes. A butcher brought bags of beef bones for soup this week.
The other is at Kyneton. This one is more community based and they do working bees at members houses. They have a Swap table but only a few people contribute.

The Woodend swap sounds amazing Chookie and well done Helen for organising it so well and all those who contribute goodies like yourself.  It makes me quite envious reading your stories.

I recently found out that our local markets do a swap too. I wouldn't have really thought much about going if it weren't for your recommendations Chookie. I don't think I will be going for some time though as bub number 2 arrived yesterday, so I'm sure he will keep me very busy!!!
