Yesterday I made a chicken casserole, vegetable casserole and boiled fruit cake. Half of each of the casseroles will go in the freezer.

Yes Judy, quite nice. To be served with Mandarine sauce , ( Mandarine Jam thinned with a bit of water) and cream. The recipe included ground Hazelnuts as well as ground Almonds. I think it would have been better with all Almonds.
I am having a campaign to use up lots of stuff in the pantry. Yesterday I used up some Museli and made Uncooked Museli Bars. RAL tested them and said they were the best that he had tasted. Probably because I loaded them up with Choc Chips.

Cho chips make everything better. I gave DH a book to select a biscuit recipe and he chose "Whatever Biscuits." They are a plain biscuit and you add 'whatever.' He requested choc chips and anything else.
I made some Strawberry Jam from Chookie's blog today. Yummy.

Cookie, glad you liked the Strawberry Jam. Goes nice on SD crumpets.
Visitors for lunch. Roast beef, roast root veggies, cauliflower cheese , asparagus and green beans and potato slice. The potato slice is a great recipe.
Butter dish, slice potatoes on mandolin, layer potatoes with Parmesan cheese between layers and pour chicken stock over to 1/2 fill dish. Cover and bake. Remove cover and brown top. Cut into serving slices. Gave this recipe to friend to cook for 20 elderly citizens. 2 asked for seconds.
Having the Mandarine cake as pud.

Must try that recipe myself Chookie, I love potato bake and once cold it can be cut up into squares and frozen.

I think I will do that version of potato bake tonight Chookie.
I have made a Classic Loaf, Whatever biscuits (I will post the recipe) and I'm following a Bake with Jack you tube to make SD. It had better taste nice as its involved. My rye SD starter went to heaven. I managed to scrape a tiny bit out and fortunately I was able to re generate it.
My strawberry jam.

I finally got a jar of Neutral Coconut oil. It must be the only jar in Ballarat. I made Alyce’s recipe and will see what it is like after setting up over night. I love butter but will try this in place of butter in some recipes when the butter flavour is not important. It is less than 1/2 the cost.

I cooked my SD loaf today. I took it out of the fridge this morning and let it to rise. The instructions said to cook it straight from the fridge but I decided not too. It has a lovely flavour and is soft and fluffy but I’m not sure if I will do it again. There are quicker methods.

Cookie, both loaves look very good. Like you I have a long slow SD bread recipe to try. Not sure it is worth the extra effort. Nevertheless , will probably give it a go.
Taught a friend to make SD bread. She in now teaching another friend. Love it.
