Cheese & Basil Knot Rolls - With photo - recipe from UK TM site
« on: October 14, 2009, 06:51:10 am »

http://www.ukthermomix.com/recshow.php?rec_id=7

Hopefully it's okay to put the link here, if not please let me know.  :)

These were a delight to make and super easy.  Has the right amount of cheeseyness without being overpowering.

When I first took out of the oven I thought they were going to be 'heavy' but that didn't turn out to be the case. Were lovely both warm straight from the oven, or when allowed to cool.

Went really well with the soup I made today (family chowder).

They really look delish. The UK TM book is a REALLY good book. We've made the Salmon with Mushroom Sauce, and also the Lamb Curry with Mushrooms -- both to die for!

Thanks guys  ;D

CP the UK book sounds good.  Do we have to contact TM in the UK to order it?

I contacted them direct and also ordered the Demonstrator Delights book as well, including postage were AUD$86. Lots of different recipes to the EDC, and also have lots of helpful hints. Took about a week by post.

Made these for dinner tonight, they are yummy! Don't seem to get a crusty top and like Julie I was worried that they were going to be doughy but were just fine.

I am finally back on the forum after moving from one large house to two smaller ones - I make this bread often - it was the first bread I ever made in TM for my delivery demo! I prefer it with Gruyere cheese though.
I also prefer the UK book even though it lacks the photographs - we can all take our own and place them in the relevant pages  :D

Can you get Jarlsberg?  Not quite the same - but nearly.

Another review of these rolls from versaceyoyo:

Recipe Name:  Cheese and basil knots
Book Name:  http://www.ukthermomix.com/recshow.php?rec_id=7
Tweaking details:  none
Review:  Great recipe
Score: (out of 5*)
5/5

The recipe made a lovely dough - perfect consistency.  When they didn't rise much I was a little concerned but they turned out beautifully and I would recommend these rolls as a great lunch accompaniment.

I had great success with these rolls today as well.  Taste very much like a savoury muffin and went well the the bowl of soup we had for lunch.  I added 2 tspns bread improver, kneaded for 3 minutes, left on the bench for 1/2 hour but as it is cooler these days, they weren't doing anything so I popped them into a 50oC oven for 15 minutes then took them out whilst the oven heated up to the required 220oC.  Perfect with a slightly crunch crust (I had sprayed the tops with olive oil and placed some boiling water in the bottom of the oven too like Isi does).
