Recipe Requests / Sausage roll question
« on: September 19, 2013, 12:31:27 am »
I need to make two batches of sausage rolls, one veg (Cyndi's) and one meat.  I want some veggies in the meat ones, wondering what others think about making a batch of Cyndi's and mixing in some minced beef (we don't eat pork and I'm not keen on 'sausage mince').  I don't eat red meat myself so am not great at cooking it or knowing what may not work.  Or should I just use one of the basic sausage roll recipes here and use beef and sub the sausage meat for veggies?

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Almond Milk question
« on: August 24, 2012, 04:10:52 am »
I am making Almond milk for the first time, the recipe in the vegetarian book is about 1.5 cups almonds to 2.5 cups of water, there is also a recipe in the drinks section that is about the same, and i've got a very thick, almost paste like mix, should it be this thick, or should I add more water?  Not sure I am going to get much 'milk' out of this...

Chit Chat / Help with bean soup from a taste of vegetarian
« on: April 23, 2012, 04:28:10 am »
Hi
Wasn't sure where to put this, hope here is ok.

Has anyone made this bean soup, it is on my menu plan for tonight and I've just read the recipe properly and the only liquid is 50g of water, for the steaming of green beans and the soup itself?  I am suspicious of the recipe as the instructions are very vague, eg "add remaining ingredients and cook for 8 mins, varima, reverse +2" yet the remaining ingredients include 1 zucchini halved, 1 leek sliced and one carrot.

I can presume I need to chop the veggies as one would for soup, but am now wondering if it is worth bothering with this recipe, I don't have time to deal with a failure and dinner time is too hectic to be trying to 'fix' a recipe on the run.

Introduce Yourself / Another Melbourne newbie
« on: January 25, 2012, 01:21:45 am »
Hi
I'm Lisel from Melbourne, Australia.  Vegitarian mum to carnivores DH, DD 4 and dairy free twin DS's 11 months.  I got my TM just before Christmas and cooked up a storm whilst DH was on holidays.  I really liked it, it was the time saver I needed as we were eating so much takeaway (mostly fairly healthy but $$$)  but yesterday after making a great loaf of bread (I am well known for my bread disasters)  soy milk and super LSA, I am truly in love!

I got the vegitarian recipe book for ordering in Dec but have not made anything from it yet, I have found this forum to be much more inspiring!
