Funnily enough, I was just thinking about you earlier, Mab. I was glad to read such good news that they were able to help you. Keep well.

I know this has got nothing to do with last night's dinner - but your motor home looks nothing short of fantastic, Cookie. Well worth the wait.
Our dinner was boring pasta with passata out of a jar!! 6

What an exciting and busy time you have all had the past couple of days.
DH and I have just come back from 1 week in Italy ... well, 4 days in Italy, the rest of the time was spent travelling there and back. Had a wonderful time in Cremona, such a beautiful wee town - DH had meetings and we also took in a trade fair there. Spent one night in Milan - after the peace and quiet of Cremona Milan was over-powering - too many people and too many vehicles (in Cremona we could simply walk down the middle of the road as there was very little traffic). Had a fantastic apartment there and found a little family owned bakery up the road where we went each day for our foccaia breakfast. All really nice people. Now it is back to reality. 8

Mab, thank goodness you now have some more positive information, that must be a huge relief. Good luck with your on-going treatment.

Thanks for the silken tofu suggestion, Chookie. Funnily enough the version I made at the weekend used silken tofu for the first time.

Greek day for me - Greek pasta salad, full of good fresh veges and a "Giant" beans recipe. Also experimented with a new vegan macaroni and cheese recipe, but still can't get to the texture or anywhere near the taste of real cheese sauce. I have been close a few times, but still not there yet. The search goes on.

Still cold in this area today - feels more like mid winter than spring - although we didn't have the weather you got yesterday, Chookie, the ground here is white just now, so I doubt it will get too much warmer as the day goes on.
I am busy doing my usual weekend cooking to keep us going with dinners all week as well as giving the house a clean out as we are off to Italy for a week next Monday and we have people staying here in Guildford for the week whilst we are away. 12

You have a busy couple of days in front of you, Chookie. Enjoy it all.
So sorry to read that Masons is closing. We will have to make a point of getting over there before Xmas. I believe there is another excellent restaurant in Bendigo - I will have to track it down, but can anything top Masons??? 13

Fantastic news, Cookie. I bet you are desperate to get your hands on your new 'home' and are looking forward to many holidays and happy hours spent in it.
I hadn't heard that Bank West was closing; banks are no longer there for their customers so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised - is that cynical of me? 14

I also noticed on the Seniors Week programme there was a presentation by Norman Swan - I must look into that one, I am sure it will be interesting.

I went out to do a bit of shopping today and picked up a brochure on the Seniors Festival which is held every year. I only had time to flip through it quickly and one particular event caught my eye ... a visit to a cemetery
