Fig Jam
« on: February 05, 2010, 12:22:04 pm »
Has anyone made fig jam in the TMX? I see there is a recipe in the EDC. DH brought home heaps of figs today and wants jam. I'll give it a go tomorrow and see how it goes.

Yes I did a few weeks ago. I made a half batch, well I had about 650g figs. I think I could have cooked it a little longer as it is still a little runny but yummy. My 3yr old little guy calls it Big Jam  :-* how cute is he ;D 'I love Big Jam Mummy'

I love figs. They are as rare as hens teeth in Cairns and when I do see them in season they are about $25 a kilo so I would use dried figs for the jam. They are so precious I have to protect them fro the supermarket check out chicks just tossing them into the bottom of the bag and dumping stuff on top. YIKES!

I love them baked with Gorgonzola and wrapped in prosciutto.

I made the fig jam today and it's rather nice. I'll put in a review for it.
