Title: Blades in TM31 turning but not chopping

Hi
My Thermomix TM31 is about 5 yrs old and has served me well. Yesterday I was making a breakfast smoothie and a strange sound came from Thermomix. Blades were turning but not chopping. Was recommended by repair centre to buy new set of blades. I am not convinced this will sort the problem. Any advice?

We are a food forum tomcl and don't really know much about the ins and outs of a thermomix. However a few of us have had this happen and I think the repair centre may be correct.
Do you have anyone who has a machine and you can try theirs?
