You are a brave lady Gert.

We are getting ready to go away for a couple of weeks as soon as the school holidays are over so I booked my car in for a service today and then washed some clothes to freshen them up a bit.

I also had to renew my licence, pay the rates and the registration on the car, so I  hope there is enough left in the bank for the holiday. :)

I also had to renew my licence today. $174 for 5 years. Apparently you can get a 10 year one now. I enquired and the young girl behind the counter lowered her voice and said sympathetically that I was too old. It's only available for 21-44 year olds.  There is always a sunny side though and since turning 55 this year I qualify for the seniors rate at the gym.

Jeninwa have a wonderful time.

Mich if you can't pay your license for 10 years there is no hope for me.  ;) ;) ;) ;) I was able to do 5 years though.
Mab, I'm sure you will be able to scrape a little out of the piggy bank for the holiday. :D :D :Where are you off to? We hope to give our baby Avan a test run before the school holidays.

DH on holidays for 6 weeks! We are taking the 2 oldest GK's to a farmstay in the beautiful Ferguson Valley. We will be staying Wednesday and Thursday nights. There is a 2 hour farm experience which includes feeding the animals and pony rides. We also have 2 Gnomes with the kids names painted on, ready to set down somewhere in Gnomesville with all the other thousands of gnomes.
We are really looking forward to it!
Most of the packing got done today.

Everyone seems to be going on holiday, have a great time guys.

Have spoken to my insurance company, taken the car over to their preferred repairer for a consult, shocked when he said he'd need the car for up to 1.5 weeks as there is internal damage which will become more evident when he removes the bumper when I take it in for repairs next Monday.

Speaking to the owner and her BF this afternoon I found out there is no insurance cover for the poor chap who hit me and he's said he will pay the costs.  Yikes, I think that will be a shock when he finds out what that will be which won't be known until a full examination.

Will be catching the bus to visit the nursing home and walking to the shops.  Should be interesting, I've never been without a car for that long.

Have wonderful holidays girls. :-*

Blimey Judy that's quite a long time for your car to be in for repairs.
I hope the young man who hit you has learned his lesson driving without insurance.

McMich, I'm into my 70s now and I was able to get a 10 year licence.  I live in Victoria so maybe our rules are different to yours.

Must have a variance in age through the states. Victorian drivers must have a better record than New South Welshman.

Gosh Judy, that is no good re the length of time to fix the car. It seems very silly the lass not having insurance on her car. They take a big risk.

Your holiday sounds lovely mab. Enjoy it.
