Thank goodness we do not have an IKEA within cooee of Cairns! Today I disposed , recycled, trashed and repurposed over 30 items excess to requirements. I live alone. I have 3 only doona covers. One for a single bed and 2 for my bed. I even went through my shoes today and found I could get rid of only four pair.  5 years ago I had only 3 pair of shoes not I have 15. I think they multiply when not looking. 3 pair are white canvas “tennis” shoes only $3.50 a pair from Big W. Why. No idea.  I did buy 3 pair of arms for my Dresden glasses. Nice to have colour change but totally totally unnecessary. I recommend Dresden frames to anyone. Brilliant concept and Aussie made for only $40.

You’ve had a good run in the west cookie, just goes to show that’s this Covid can rear it’s ugly head at any time.  Hope you have plenty of food in the house.

I laughed so hard I nearly spit my wine when I read that Judy. I am sure cookie could live without shopping for food for at least 3 months. Chookie could live for a year!  I could last at least 2 months and I am sure you could last the same. I could last with
wine for about 6 months!

Welcome home Ral.

Gert there is talk of another total lockdown with children staying at home for the whole of January.

If parents are not around the bend by now, keeping the kids home will soon send them there,

Chookie that is a bummer when that happens. Just forgetaboutit and move on.  Hope Ral is home by Friday.

Judy I hope you get your mojo back soon as your health improves. No need to rush it.

CC it is terrible what is happening in England. When will they get it that isolation is just about the only answer to spreading it.

My best friend of 50 years was at the Avalon Bowlo where she did catch the virus and is now in self quarantine. She is not well but the department of health are checking on her. She has spent many hours talking to contact tracers and others. She lives in a retirement village which is now in TOTAL lockdown with security guards roaming about. Many of the residents are royally pissed off they cannot get out. I do not have a lot of sympathy. No one wants anyone to get ill. This virus is absolutely brutal. My friend now also has to bear the guilt of unknowingly exposing others and the fear of having ongoing problems. Stay home and stay safe.

Ha ha Judy. You would think so but mainly not. They say I let my grandkids fix it. Drives me nuts  they want to remain dependent on kids to help when they could so easily help themselves. I do however help a few, especially the men who were forced to bet on the horses on line when the TAB shut shop. LOL!

I recently purchased my third Apple Watch but did not get the one with the inbuilt Sim as I feel I do not need it quite yet but certainly when I finally get hearing aids I will upgrade again. I find the smart watch a necessity these days. Then again I find all digital devices absolutely necessary. LOL!

Yes I do Cuilidh. I have kept in touch  with Stef on Facebook. It is so sad. Erik died quite suddenly and of course Stef is devastated. They were also partners in business. Stef has also had health issues recently do is doing it tough.

Michele,  sounds like good news all round.
Gert, which one did you buy?
TMX, Friend, looks like it can cook independent of set programs.  Good for jams, soups and stews. Need more info.  Are bowls interchangeable?  At least it is a slow move in the direction I want.
Cool and wet here today.

What message?

The umask is washable and will last as long as the pandemic I figure so money well spent.

It helps if you can perch the frames of your glasses just on the top of the mask as well.  I paid $15 for some anti-fogging cloths from our optician ... they didn't work!

When I worked in the operating theatre we had masks with a plastic bit you could pinch to make a seal around your nose. We do not have to wear masks but as an “ abundance of caution” and after a lot  of research , bought an expensive but suitable mask from umask. http://umask.com.au/. It does not allow my glasses to fog.

Gosh that is cold. I hate it when we have a maximum of 15 or 16.

It has rained a reasonable amount here.

I have been very lucky with a mild “Dry Season”. Nothing much changes In Tropical North Queensland. And more importantly nothing has much changed for me with Coronas 19. Feeing most fortunate while others of us are struggling.

There is no doubt that the tradies network are on to you. They know they will be well fed and go home with treats.
