Hi Marmee,
The GF bread is dairy free but contains eggs.
Mandarin sorbet recipe:
80gm sugar (mill until fine about 10 secs?)
200gm mandarin skinned and seeds removed
500gm ice cubes
Add mandarin and half the ice to the bowl and process for 20 secs.
Add rest of ice and process for 1 min 30 secs.
Enjoy!

4. biscuits,especially shortbread
Ohhh cookie - that reminds me of the cranberry and pistachio shortbreads in the mini Christmas book - they were a HUGE hit with my family. Dad who 'doesn't like shortbread' asked for more! ;D
-
Mrspock, try the honey soy chicken wings, they are fantastic, nobody can resist them! And I mean nobody!
Sounds yummy, but unprepared chicken wings are not readily available here, I don't think. Although I may be mistaken; I've discovered loads of new products since I've had my TMX! I'll take a look next time I'm at the grocery store. Thanks for the tip :)
I love this thread: It's one thing to read a recipe, but having someone say it's their favorite gives it much more appeal!

Mrs T is with you 100% - except now I have made some chicken nuggets - here new fav.
-
how did you do them thermomixer?
-
Will post the recipe - but basically chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, S&P - blitzed then made into long suasgaes to put in Varoma nad stem - then later slice and crumb and fry as needed. Easier to crumb the steamed slices than raw balls.
-
Who - those nuggets sound devine! Make sure you post ;)
Thanks, Dean for the mandarin sorbet - easy, gluten dairy and egg free. Love it!!!! So will my children.
On the GF bread - how many eggs do you put into the mix? I wonder if the dreaded egg replacer would work? Dreaded as everything I cook with the darn thing never turns out brilliantly :(
-
can't wait to see the recipe, i had been procrastinating on making nuggets as i knew i wasn't sure how to do them without a heap of trouble (ie using raw mince and trying to crumb)
-
I make chicken nuggets using diced chicken with a cornflake and herb crumb made in TM. Oven bake for 15min. My kids love them.

Bread
Cakes
Custard
rice
steaming generally
Jams & chutneys
would have to appear there. But I really don't know - I use it for everything, so I can never really separate out what I use it for - if that makes any sense!!! :D

-
I am the Queen of Procrastination! Uni exams in two weeks :( so everything is more interesting. I think I just spotted some dirt under the fridge, so I'd better pull it out and clean under it ;).
-
lol Cathy my DH is suffering the same affliction....must be something to do with Uni exams lol. I hate this time of the year...and especially when the teens are doing exams as well as they start first so I have weeks of exams :-[ :-[ - no too many years left lol...DD is only 2!!!!
-
This is my last semester after studying for 5 years and having 2 kids along the way. So we're pretty excited about getting this over and done with. At some stage I'll have to consider CPA which means more study :'( :-\...
-
Bugger ! :(
-
Well done Cathy. Exams seem to affect the entire family. Some how we all survive, but at the time it seems very hard.
Good luck to everyone who has exams.
-
Do you know the saying "it takes a village to raise a child"? Well the same goes for a uni student. It is definitely a group effort. Thanks to all the families who support us out there, on behalf of all the studying people!

Frozen custard ice-cream sounds amazing, is that in any of the books, I have had my TM3 for 3 weeks now, it amazes me each time I use it.
Made ice-cream yesterday with the recipe, I had seen on this forum, I froze the cream in ice cube trays, then added it to a large punnet of fresh strawberries, It was yummy. (used sugar as well first)
-
Not sure if there is recipe in the books - but you can make a parfait type frozen dessert with custard base and whipped cream
-
I can remember being so inspired when we (forum oldies) did our top 10 recipe lists. I thought it was about time to update my list. You can find it (with links) on my blog here (http://fulllittletummies.blogspot.com/2010/08/filling-tummies-with-our-top-10.html).
-
Good work Chelsea. Great list. Amazing how we have changed as time goes on
-
I don't remember seeing this thread before! Must think about what we cook the most...
-
I think my top 10 are still pretty similar to be honest. The favourites seem to vary a bit with the season.
-
Dean those dim sims sound delicious can we have the recipe please?
-
My top ten would have to be 4 of the layers of the Vanilla Thriller
http://tenina.com/2010/08/the-vanilla-thriller-adriano-and-3-days-of-my-life/ (http://tenina.com/2010/08/the-vanilla-thriller-adriano-and-3-days-of-my-life/)
and the last 6 things I made in the TM.
In fact this morning I did a blood orange and lemonade with a snippet of mint....YUM!
Honestly, what did I cook before that was good??
-
Tenina, that layered cake looks really amazing. Congratulations to you in achieving it.
I hope to go to Adriano Z's place when I am in Sydney.
-
I use it most often for making marzipan. (Also other nut compounds - hazelnut, for instance.)
Second on the list is risotto - especially with mushrooms.
Next on the list is sambals. Much easier than my old method which relied heavily on a big mortar and pestle.
Then: Mustard - coarse ground types, with various additives.
Ketchup.
Sauces.
Salsas.
Soups.
Breads.
