We use as natural fat as possible. Butter for baking, spreading, sauces etc, ghee and coconut oil for frying or roasting, olive oil for salad and marinated veg etc. I really don't know what oil to use for frying or baking or mayo purposes.  Was using grapeseed oil but apparently its not good.  At the moment I'm using good quality peanut oil as it seems to be ok. But who knows.  I bought the dehydrator to make my own semi dried tomatoes because it was very hard to buy tomatoes in oil that didnt include canola or "vegetable oil" which can be anything.

I love T2 as well.  We are drinking hibiscus tea and Refresh from there at the mo.  Make a pot mid morning and drink it throughout the day.
Bought a new microwave today as decided I wanted a grill plus microwave function particularly for reheating pastry type things. Ended up getting this http://www.panasonic.com.au/Products/Microwave+ovens/Steam/Product+listing anyone else here have one?  Two oldest granddaughters coming to play during the school holidays too so added to my granny craft  stash...... http://www.craftonline.com.au/shopping/ebosser.asp

Salmon and curried cauliflower cheese quiche.  Had leftover salmon and leftover cheese sauce from lasagne on Sunday so added some cooked cauliflower and eggs.  Was nice.  Sour cream pastry made in TMX.

I'm back and into it.  Saving up for the next break away!  $117 this week.  Hopefully will see me through until nest Saturday.  Cooked up a storm yesterday as the family all come on Sunday's for dinner.  Got most of the meat/salmon and fruits for a crumble etc from the freezer and ended up packing away to the freezer leftover pumpkin soup, bread, lasagne and leftovers of my homemade pasta sheets, so that should all help.  Only thing I may possibly need is more cat food.

We have been harvesting a lot of our own veg, which is a big saving and much nicer,  but when we got back from a months holiday friday it was to see that there was a tiny gap in the cage over our backyard veg patch and the whole lot has been stripped.  Damn possums! was expecting to see cabbage, caulis, broad bean plants, beetroot, sprouting broccoli etc :( very disappointing!

Very interested in how you go with the cheese making kit Cookie1.  We have had a kit for over a year and nothing made yet.  Bought it for dh but he needs to get started.  Was thinking of going to one of those day classes maybe.

Love that beautifully iced giant cupcake Kimmy!

The weather in Spain and France was definitely not what we have had on previous visits.   But the past week in Paris has been sunny and lovely.  Left yesterday even though there was an air controller strike. Most long haul flights still leaving, although I told dh I was hoping our flight wasn't leaving as we were having a ball. In Singapore for a couple of days now and then back home to cats, rats, kids and grand kids and very importantly my TMX!

Had a lovely day doing a Champagne crawl from place to place and mostly sunny.  8 hours out and about and a lot of climbing up and down in and out of champagne caves.   20 metres underground at Taittenger! Fascinating.  Drank a lot of champagne but walked it off. Told dh whilst here I'm only drinking champagne:) ......maybe a little water and coffee if necessary......
