I'm a bit of a stick in the mud for breakfast. I guess it is from when I worked. I have  made some different, exciting breakfasts the night before, but when I get up DH has my bowl of Sultana Bran measured out for me and my glass of juice. I feel mean saying no, I have some in the fridge.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Awww how can you say no to that  :D

I used to just have tea and toast every morning, but have changed that and will try pretty much anything healthy now, am really enjoying it.  :)

I made this yesterday afternoon to have for the next 2 mornings.  It was really delicious and refreshing and so easy.

Recipe from the Women's Weekly 21 day diet planner book.


CHERRY PARFAIT serves 2 – 154 cals/serve
1 tbsp raw sugar
2 tbsp (40ml) water
150g fresh or frozen cherries, pips removed
190g reduced fat yoghurt (used Greek style)
2 tsp vanilla extract
pinch ground cinnamon
2 tbsp rolled oats, toasted in dry non stick frypan

Combine sugar, water and cherries in a small saucepan.  Bring to the boil.  Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 2 mins or until syrup thickens.  Remove to a small bowl and cool.

Combine yoghurt, vanilla and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Divide half the cherry mix between 2 small glasses (I found Martini glasses were perfect). 
Top with half the yoghurt.
Divide remaining cherry mixture and yoghurt between the 2 glasses. 
If you are making ahead, cover both glasses and refrigerate overnight.

Sprinkle with oats just before serving.

I made the Skinnymixer Warming "Porridge" this morning, I adjusted it down for just me, and it was good. I'll probably make it again!

This was my special breakfast this morning.  A bit higher in cals than usual for me but was so lovely that it would be fine as a treat now and then.  :D


RAINBOW ACAI BOWL serves 1 - 491 cals
130g coconut yoghurt 
35g frozen blueberries,
30g frozen raspberries
1 tsp each: acai powder, white chia seeds
50g mango flesh

¼ ripe banana, sliced
2 strawberries, hulled, sliced
1 ½ tbsp fresh blueberries
1 tbsp pistachios, toasted and chopped
1 small orange, segmented

Place first set of ingredients into TM bowl.  Process 30 secs/speed 9. Scrape down lid and bowl.
Blend 10 secs/speed 10.
Pour into a serving bowl.

Arrange the next lot of ingredients over the top and serve.
