Just beautiful Chookie. I think I may try Lindt Orange chocolate to make Jaffa flavoured ones.

Nice idea Cookie.
Marina, this is an awful time of the year if you are trying to lose weight. I made 3 dozen but have only eaten one.   Only 2 left.  Ral will eat those. He is trying to limit them to 1 at a time.

Great self control, Chookie, well done.  I am actually pleased with my weight loss (5 kg so far), but Christmas and the holidays are going to be well and truly challenging ... especially when we have people stayng / visiting us.  I will have to work very hard on my self control and search for appropriate recipes.

Marina,  congratulations  on the weight loss.  I can manage the Custard Tarts but now I have made Cookie Panettone this is a different challenge. Any thing with Brioche base is hell.

I must try this version next time my grandson visits Chookie, he loves your original ones.  I may need to use a milk chocolate though as he finds dark not sweet enough in things, though I guess I could just add a bit more sugar.  :P

I am not reading this recipe, anything with chocolate in it is my downfall.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

LOL - I have the same problem, Margaret!  Fortunately for me, DH is lactose intolerant so that helps keep me under control.

Julie, the recipe that was the inspiration for this used milk chocolate. I used dark chocolate as I wanted the coffee as an undertone.

Oh I love anything with coffee in it.  My biggest disappointment was when I realised that coffee cake didn't actually have coffee in it, it was something you ate with coffee  :-))

Well I didn’t know that Julie, I rarely order a cake with coffee as I prefer savoury food.  At the moment though I just have a coffee and that’s it.
