Yes, I imagine country shows would be very different Robyn - everyone knows everyone and allowances can be made, unlike big cities where rules and regulations are very strict for good reason.

Unfortunately the entries actually closed quite a while ago - mid July from memory. They have so many applicants for the Melbourne show there is no way they would be able to accomodate people turning up on the day. It's such a shame though. We had been hoping to enter a cake DD decorated as part of her year 11 classes but the school forgot to enter it after they put it on display and by the time we found out it was already past the entry date.

On my way into Melbourne City. Staying at the Windsor and going to see America play tonight at the Hamer Hall. Mini break :)

Haha. Will be interesting to see how they are standing up to the ravages of time. It's funny seeing all these old timers.  Suzi quatro and Alice cooper are still looking really good in concert.  Uriah Heep too and the best the Eagles!  As you can see we love our concerts.

What a shame about your entry Sue :( :(

Today I went to my PT session and then had lunch with nana, grandpa, grandpa's brother, mum and SD to celebrate grandpa's 87th birthday. He never thought he would make it to 87, but he has!!! ;D ;D ;D
I told him he's got to make it to my birthday now, because then he will have seen all his grandchildren reach adulthood :)

Thanks for listening to my grumble this morning- I was just really annoyed at myself (and disappointed.)
Wonder is right about the closing date of the entries - I put the forms in months ago. I obviously meAnt to enter that class, but didn't  put that one down. It is totally my fault, and that,s what I'm annoyed about. I should have double checked my form when it arrived in the post a month ago. I was even organised enough to bake the gingerbread biscuits before I went to Margaret River, and I'm usually such a last minute Nellie!
On the bright side, I've just eaten one of the spare biscuits, and they are really tasty - it explains why half of them disappeared last night. (DD really likes the taste of ginger).
I feel happier now, as ive disovered that I won second prize for the decorated cake I put in the open cake decoration section yesterday, and I've got the kid's school concert to look forward to tonight.
Happy again  ;)

Congratulations, ES.  Maybe you could organise a Christmas Raffle at school and donate your beautiful standing Christmas tree?

I'm totally exhausted at the moment, between looking after my own family, looking after my Nephew, trying to run my business (a little hard at the moment ) and a couple of demanding lambs that kept me awake last night at our back door baa baa baa at 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am. I finally got up and feed them at 5am. If they do that again tonight ....... Lamb roast anyone? :o
Think it was the rough weather last night as they don't usually make a noise at night.

Today I spent the day in a pastry kitchen....watching.
I was there to see if they could use a thermomix in their kitchen.
It was a great experience and am going back next week!
