I have three seats available in my car ... Judy and Katie ... if you are coming in on the same flight on Sunday morning I am happy to pick you up, however you may have other plans.  Same goes for anyone coming in from out of town, Tullamarine airport is between us and Chookie's home so an airport pick up is no problem.  If you are coming in to Avalon airport then I could pick from in town.

Deedub, I would be happy to car share if you like if none of the out of towners need a lift.

Thanks Marina, will get back to you on that one - must make a decision very soon though as I have my cancelled flights from last year's WA retreat which must be booked by the 13th May.

Nice to see the Melbourne girls putting their hands up to help out. Thanks to all of you.

Yes thanks Marina & Wonder, very kind of you  ;D
I was thinking I might have to hire a car and drive myself there (and that was making me nervous).

Once Judy is in a position to make plans, I'll see if it's possible to be on the same flight as her (at least one way - she may stay longer than me).  How exciting   :D

Chookie would a Qlder be welcome at this get together as I was originally in for Adelaide until a mandatory conference was scheduled in Cairns August 15.

WOW,  everyone is so generous with their offers.  Thanks very much.
Uni,  have been wanting to catch up with you,  please come. Last minute fine,  if it means you can come. Bring Frank  if that make it easy.
Johnro,  you are most welcome, DH says can you bring some fudge. ?????
As it will be winter still in August,  we will eat inside.  We can seat 20 formally, but probably  30plus informally.  It is warm inside and cold out,  but if not raining some nice walks.  I can guarantee excellent company.
Think I should add to the heading.  Ofcourse interstates are welcome.

Informally is quite OK Chookie if you get 30 takers - wow, it's amazing the interest shown in this get together.  You may need to have a cut off point so I hope you are keeping a list of possibles at this stage.  What would Ral like Katie & me to bring  ;D  No, can't bring belly pork roast, sorry Ral  :-* :-* :-*

I am sooo excited ladies. Can I start counting sleeps yet??? ;D
My car is empty (except me) and I am driving right past Avalon airport, so can do that pickup if anyone needs. Don't want to pick and choose, but someone who can read maps would be good, as I am odds on to get lost :D

A bunch of girls in a car could quite easily get lost Kimmy - most I know are terrible navigators including me.  The maps are always the wrong way up for me.

Oh dear, and here I was relying on your map reading abilities to get us there, Judy!  I'm thinking I will have to do a 'dummy' run up to Cherokee before August to familiarise myself with the road!  I can see it now, half a dozen cars full of women buzzing around the Macedon area - GPS's and mobile phones running hot trying to find Bess and Ral ... anyone here done orienteerring?

I'm bringing my GPS. I will be OK when I'm out of the city. I'm not quite sure what to do driving next to trams.  ???

If you are flying down you don't need to drive in the city at all if you are hiring a car - arrange for pick up and drop off at the airport.  Driving around trams isn't so hard, just go slowly and, if the tram is stopping at a tram stop you are not allowed to move until either the doors close or the tram moves on and, if it is safe to do so without breaking any laws, you can pass the tram on the inside lane.  The hardest part is if you are turning at a corner that has a 'hook' turn - if unsure, best advice is ... find another corner to turn at!
