Cookie, sad to hear all that. Very upsetting.  Unfortunately we get a lot of stuff as we get older.  One of the conditions that they discovered that Ral has, CLL, we wouldn’t have even known about.  Apparently many, many people over 70 have it.  Need to keep an eye on it.  But if you don’t know you have it , how can you keep an eye on it.  :-\

Too true Chookie and a good thing that Ral’s was discovered. We are of the age where everything is going wrong with so many people we know.  You are doing the right thing cookie by visiting your friends.

CLL, my sister who is a health freak has it also.  A friends elderly mum died with it and they didn’t know she had it.
Too hot to do much outside. Too hot to do baking, although have SD loaf rising.

Thanks good friends. Funeral tomorrow. :'( :'(
Our visit yesterday was very stress relieving. The people are extremely good friends and then another friend dropped round un expectedly and we ended up laughing a lot. It was amazing there were 5 of us, each of us had parents from a different country. Ukrainian, Dutch, Romanian, Greek and Italian mix, and me,. . the Aussie. We are certainly a multi cultural country. I love it.

I have just googled CLL. Professor Google is very helpful.

Now I am sending a ginormous hug to Ral and Chookie and everyone else on the forum. Hugs flying over the Nullabor-watch out. :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks for the hugs Cookie , as they say right back at you . Chookie enjoy being home . Been in Melbourne for a few days going to a talk and lunch with DM . As I left the school nurse rang to say DS had hurt his shoulder , think a bit of boy tomfoolery, he was taken to physo and cannot play cricket tonight’s game . Pulled mussels in his shoulder . He will be ok . DM has had a pinched nerve in her shoulder on the weekend, not heard or seen her in such pain , much better last night after medication and physo and acupuncture! Hard when DM getting older and managing so well but never stops I fact she exhausts us all . Managed to help her with washing all the heavy dog bedding . Always something going on .

I am late with my hugs and best wishes to you all, but, late as they are, they are heartfelt, so one big hug to everyone.

Some friends from NZ are over at the moment so last night we went to a music pub with them.  It turned out to be a big band playing jazz and, although it was good and I enjoyed it, it was deafeningly loud.  It was the first big band concert we had been to for well over 30 years and I had forgotten about the volume (I wish there had been a button to turn it down) ... I think there were 5 trumpets, 4 trombones, 4 saxophonists, drummer, 2 guitarists and 1 pianist.  As a regular attendee at classical music concerts, going to a jazz concert was an entirely different experience altogether (much less formal and more 'laid back'), we might do it again sometime, but I will take along ear plugs next time!
