Recipe Requests / Phillippa's Fig & Anise Sourdough Bread
« on: October 28, 2009, 12:38:02 pm »
Would anyone know how to make this bread?

I buy the 400g loaf and it costs around $6 - the ingredients on the bag are unbleached wheat flour, water, figs, aniseed, sea salt and fresh yeast.

Thanks!

Tips and Tricks / Vibrating machine
« on: October 01, 2009, 01:39:37 pm »
Boy, I was quite shocked to see how much the machine vibrated (well it actually moved right along the bench top!!) while kneading the bread dough.  Not really complaining, but just a bit 'or moy gord' type of feeling!!

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Different recipe book
« on: September 24, 2009, 02:56:35 pm »
My s.i.l. and I purchased our machines one week apart.  The recipe book that came with her TMX has the recipe for 5 seed loaf and my recipe book has the Cape Seed Loaf recipe - does anyone know why our books are different - haven't been able to check if any of the other recipes differ, but would be upset if I had an earlier print of the cookbook as I think they may have improved on the recipes since the one I received was printed.

Recipe Requests / Tiramisu
« on: September 21, 2009, 01:13:31 pm »
Can someone tell me if the recipe for Mascapone cheese that's in the TMX cookbook tastes the same as the Mascapone you buy at the supermarket.

I usually make tiaramisu and don't want to go to all the trouble of making it  if it doesn't taste the same.

Thanks.

Recipe Requests / Grain bread
« on: September 21, 2009, 01:07:54 pm »
My DD has asked me to make some grain bread - I think she'd like it similar to the Cape Seed loaf that Bakers Delight sell.  Does any know of a recipe for this or do I just add as many different seeds as I want to the bread recipe that comes with the TMX cookbook.

Thanks.

Introduce Yourself / It's another new one!!!
« on: September 13, 2009, 02:50:16 pm »
Hi there,

Ordered my TM last Wednesday and having my demo this week.  My sister in law received hers last week and she's been cooking up a storm and loving it.

She's made bread, soup, veal pizziaola, coconut icecream, macadamia and choc chip biscuits and so many other things that I can't remember - only one disaster so far and that was with the pumpkin soup - she made it again using the recipe from the book and it came out great.  She's made the bread a few times and it gets better each time!!

My TM will sit next to my coffee machine which cost a little bit more than the TM and only makes coffee!!!!

I'm really looking forward to reading about what you're all cooking with your TMs and hopefully, once I get mine, I can post all my cooking creations - good or bad.  But I really hope that I use this appliance regularly and that the novelty doesn't wear off.

Bye for now.
