Stay safe everyone, one thing that must make lockdown a little easier is the terrible wintry conditions all southerners are experiencing at the moment. I think this new variant is making people who were sitting on the fence about it choosing to now have it and that’s a good thing.

Good on you for celebrating Chookie.
Judy I agree with you. DH and I were discussing this yesterday. I mentioned it to DD last night and she is still iffy. Sometimes knowing too much isn't good. I can spruke all the statistics to her but she knows a lot more than me and can blind me with science.

Overcast here today and didn't rain until about 3.30pm.

Chookie stay safe , we are over lockdown . DS was on school camp only home last night . Truly had the best time but sported a haircut that is interesting. Did a big shop on Thursday as the talk of lockdown was nearing .
It’s wet cold and not much wood left . Teens sound asleep, DS will be worn out , never sleeps this late.
Waiting to here re DD tests last week to get a iron infusion.

It’s really strange about the COVID-19 case in Ballarat. Listed once and nothing since.
Saw the sun this morning for 10 minutes.
Chooks not laying many eggs. They are into their third year.
We feel lucky that we were able to go out for 2 birthday celebrations before the lockdown.

Don’t think 5 days will be enough. Starting to forget what ‘ normal’ was.

Thanks chookie. We are pretty lucky though I feel it will inevitably arrive here in Cairns. Some Victorian visitors arrived on Hamilton Island from a hot spot. Wait and see now. Challenging times for everyone. Encountered some Sydney visitors in Cairns yesterday. Don't know how they got here. Crazy.

Stay safe Gert and everyone - we don’t need this at this stage of our life. There will always be those who take no notice of the rules.

You are right, Judy.  When DH and I went to the market on Saturday I would guess about 50% of the people were either not wearing masks at all or had them hooked under their chins!  There are reports that this outbreak is being exacerbated by young people ignoring the rules.
