Hi Guys, i cooked the delicious Beef Rendang last night and now my seal is very smelly. I tried soaking it in vinegar and water, and then lemon juice and water. Now I'm thinking maybe i should cook something and that will help take the smell away? Your thoughts and suggestions please.

Hi Jennyhavingfun, Check out this thread Here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4545.0) that has been discussed before about the lid and seal being smelly and the different methods people use to eliminate the smell. Hope that helps.

Thanks Dede, will have a look now!

I can't remember if I posted it on the other thread but rubbing it with a cut lemon and leaving it overnight is the best solution I have found. Washing it straight away in cold water is the best prevention I think. :)

I have made a paste of bicarb soda and water and tried to pack it around the seal.
Thermie i will try the lemon tip overnight!
Thanks Jenny

Hi
I have had the same problem, I let my consultant know & I got a second seal wich I use for non smelly stuff.
I know this sounds really strange but putting the smelly seal out in the sun removes the odor I have done this with mine & it works, not that we are getting much sun at the moment.

Hi Maxxie, I will def try that tomorrow, because it still smells. Next order to Thermomix i am ordering a spare seal! :-))

I purchased a second seal too, only $20, well worth it ;)

2 seals is a great idea, keeping one for sweets only. I have found mine is much better now I keep it separated from the lid until in use.

Wish I could remember where I read this (and it was only yesterday) but could could try soaking the lid overnight in a vinegar solution.
