Ok I am going to just add it here ;D
Thick Custard
This recipe , contributed by Janie Turner, makes a lovely thick custard (like birds) with no artificial ingredients, " my children will finally eat home-made custard now."
500g milk
6 egg yolks
70g sugar
1tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
20g corn flour exactly, weighed in a tsp at a time to avoid adding too much
1. Put all ingredients in the TM bowl and cook 7 minutes/90Cspeed 4
2 for an even smoother finish, mix 15-20sec/speed 8. Pour out into a serving jug
Tip: this is the perfect consistency for a trifle
Three whole eggs can be used.

this custard is really nice ladies surprised to see no one has made it, just the right about of sugar for me
i used 3 whole eggs and 1 tablespoon of cocoa
will report after it has set
makes 600mls

That sounds better than 6 yolks Uni, might try it myself once you've given it the thumbs up. It would be good for Mum for a change from rice pudding.
-
perfectly set. JD if mum likes her sweets maybe add more sugar

We've been trying to replicate my late Nana's custard recipe for years now - might have to try this!
-
I think we all freak when we see that many egg yolks uni. Good to know three eggs can be used instead.
-
i make a pav roll that needs 6 egg whites so this would be perfect to make after the pav

Just made a chocolate batch for Mum Uni, sweet enough and it's delicious hot - I had to have a taste LOL. Thanks for bumping this one.

I have made this recipe :-)) it's from the Demonstrators Delights Cookbook. If I remember correctly SIL loved it :D

I whipped this up for a trifle today and it's perfect. Just sweet enough and really smooth. I used 3 whole eggs and did the blitz at the end. Thank you x

Thanks KimmyH, I'll have to give it a go I've always been turned off by the number of egg yolks.
-
I do the same when I see a recipe with that many yolks.
-
This my economy version with less eggs
