Lol im sick of bought bread.. Just isnt the same which is why i cracked and made the rolls.. Im sure with the ff temp and next time starting earlier to do them right it will be fine and if not ill just have to persevere and avoid bread..i made them as ds starts school to orrow and wanted to make rolls for him as he loves them..

Note: this is a fab easy recipe even under pressure and with new ingredients and new oven..

Think I might have had a fail with this recipe today. I started making it after a very early work call this morning but forgot I had a second call so put it in the fridge hoping to slow down the rising, after taking out and kneading for another minute I then put on the bench to rise and got another call which went for a lot longer than i was expecting so buy the time I put it in the oven I think it had over risen, it now doesn't look like it's risen at all in the oven and looks like it might be quite heavy. will wait until the cooking time is up and see how it comes out.

Instead of the process taking less than 2 hours it's now been spread over almost 5!!

I have made these and always turn out good.

Made these 2 loaves this morning from 520g of flour.
I quite often make 2, one to give away or freeze.

All good. I was aiming for a sandwich loaf for the kids lunches but ended up with a lovely crunchy chewy bread that is more my favorite. Will be great with some dip tonight and for toast. I'll just need to make another one for sandwiches.

Quick question. Do you knead them by hand after the first rise? WHen you put them into roll form or loaf? I got to page 14 with out anyone bringing it up and didn't want to look through 41 odd pages to see if someone had asked yet!

When I'm making a loaf I let it do the first rise in the TMX bowl and then I transfer it to my loaf tin with minimal handling except to ensure the dough goes to the edges and corners of the tin. No time for extra needing here!

I didn't end up playing with my dough. Just rolled them up and onto a tray. Getting late here for tea! Very late!!
