Chit Chat / Re: Front loader vs top loader

I have a top loader but am definitely getting a front loader next time - water saving benefits sound huge and I have used my DD;s and can pile heaps into it.

I managed to whip up some sweet potato soup last night but that is about all. May try to get some steamed puddings done for tonight. I'm way behind with everything at the moment, can't even find time to get on here!  I've allowed myself 30 minutes to check my emails and have a quick look here. Must get everything done as DD and I are off to thaw out in Singapore next Monday.  Leaving DH home to feed the birds!
I've had a day like that but I'm not off on a lovely holiday like you are Cookie.  Have a wonderful time, how long are you going to be missing? Thanks for the recipes by the way.   :-* :-* :-*

I have a bottle of cognac in the cupboard that has been there for donkeys years so when I do this soup, I am going to use some of it - my father would turn over in his grave if he heard that :-)) :-)) :-))

He loved it, Asian style soups are his favourite.  He used to love sharkfin soup until he found they cut off the fin and just threw the shark back in the sea - no longer orders it.

Thought I would turn this one into chicken and asparagus soup Thermomixer. Used all your measurements but got lost somewhere in the directions so then just did my own thing ??? ??? Not a cheap soup but very nice - mine looked as good as yours too ;) ;) ;) and if ever I can get hold of some crabs (don't like the canned stuff) I will definitely make it with them.

Starters and Snacks / Re: Vegetable Stock Concentrate
« on: June 22, 2009, 01:58:48 am »
OK, so I should have looked here FIRST!
I had something similar to this in the recipe book that came with my machine, but it referred to ingredients that weren't in the ingredient list (so no quantities). I went to the Italian site and spent a couple of hours messing around with translators and finally pieced it together, only to come here and find... Voilą-- the recipe I had been looking for.

Next time...
Then, of course, there is Bron's vegetable stock in this section too Aunt Annie so you now have quite a choice ;D ;D

hmmm i thought the recipe was in the everyday cookbook but i can't find it...
You are not thinking of Karonjulie's Non-Fried Rice recipe in Main Dishes on 5/2/09 are you Karen?  That would be easy enough to add some chicken to Caroline wouldn't it?

What's the occasion Thermomixer? Something we should know about perhaps? Wedding anniversary, special birthday?

The former - so can't forget it!
No you would be in deep trouble if you did.  Congratulations.  Hope you've bought Mrs T a nice gift ;) ;) ;)

The older versions of the Aussie Everyday Cookbook didn't have enough oil.  I think from memory (with out checking cos I'm lazy) said 20g of olive, however I had been told to increase this to 40g.
Thanks ILB, hadn't heard that change and have been using 20g in mine. Will amend it right now.

Some people are just born clever ILB, others like me, have to work really hard to just get by. I would love to be able to just whip up a loaf of bread but it still scares me. My pizzas are getting better though!
