I have been revisiting all my Blog recipes.  (and cleaning them up where necessary ) Yesterday I made the Bourbon chicken recipe.  Delighted when I realised it is really a sweet and sour sauce without pineapple.  I am also exploring more cooking with dishes in the Varoma. Poached some waxy potatoes.  Lovely as a side and reheat well. Will post.

Washing and more washing , wishing for lots of sunshine at least there is wind . Feeling flat re the virus , it’s so hard for everyone. Oh the silver lining has to be I may have a freezer ... floor really uneven so DD has his thinking cap on big time how to fix so we can turn it on and put food in the freezer.

Could you put a piece of chip board or masonite down under the freezer KAtie?
I've been plodding through files looking at what I can throw out, what needs shredding and finding recipes. Like the Chocolate Nut Slice that I made.

Cookie you are right , DH had some Masonite and cuts of Lino ! Freezer turned on now . Bonus the same needed for washing machine and dryer .. he said he did all of them . Tomorrow I hope the washing machine will stop rocking the house . Then he will have to look at what is wrong with the dryer . If this gets done it will be a very productive effort. Fingers crossed because it normally takes a long and not so Patient wait.
Yoga zoom class tonight, so hard to relax and tune out but felt energised and hungry after ! Too many bonuses today .

Well done K ATIE.
Spent most of yesterday doing the paperwork , on line, for the Solar installation. Nearly had a melt down. Important to register to get Government rebate.
Today we are going to Dr.  Don’t really want to go out but Ral has to have an injection.

Glad your freezer, washing machine and dryer are sorted, K Atie, what a difference that will make.

I tried to buy a small chest freezer a month or two ago and they are simply non-existent at the moment as they are generally made in China or Asia somewhere so none are coming into the country.  Ah well, I can wait.  DH's main requirement is that it has to be able to hold a cello (freezing the instrument / bow will kill worm or other creatures that like to eat wooden things!).

Best wishes for your doctor's visit Chookie.

I had my hair cut today.  The second time with this new hairdresser.  I'm very pleased with what she has done.

Supermarket shopping this morning and paying bills.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

That’s amazing Marina.
I went to the podiatrist this morning and then did the grocery shopping.

Freezer is a stand up one .  A batch of sausage rolls minus a few in freezer . Washing machine needs to have more support under one foot . Two loads of washing and 8 had no idea they finished as it was very quiet . Managed a visit to my dear friend and a little sewing patch workshop . Beautiful sunny day .

Marina, if you got an upright freezer, you could take the drawers out and the Cello could stand upright.  As for freezing food. The upright ones do not hold as much as the chest ones, although they are more convenient.
Today we are getting a big order from the Wholesale grocer.  Yesterday I re arranged the freezers to fit in the new stuff. I think the lockdown , for us, will probably go beyond Xmas so have ordered flour, sugar, butter LL cream , cheese, puff pastry, and LL milk to last.  Plus stuff for the freezer.
I don’t want to go to the Supermarket.

I don’t blame you Chookie. It is frightening. Over here no one is social distancing any more and I think they should.
I hadn’t thought of putting a cello in an upright freezer. We have an upright one, I’m too short for a chest one and can’t reach the bottom.

We had thought of an upright, Chookie, but I don't intend for it to hold entire cellos very often (DH and I will have to have 'deep and meaningful' discussions on this point  :D ) and, as you said, when there are no cellos in there they don't hold as much as a chest freezer ... although I would imagine that an upright is easier to organise???

We had one as a kid and it literally could fit a body in it . Chookie that’s scary Christmas, you are always right . Thought about getting more butter and putting it in the freezer too. We have lots of powdered milk and whole family said they will not touch it , bad luck I say if we have to use it then we have to .
