"forget love, I'd rather fall in chocolate" Unknown.

"All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt" Lucy Van Pelt in Peanuts by Charles M. Schultz

"Our lives are not in the lap of the gods, but in the lap of our cooks" Lin Yutang

"Chocolate is cheaper than therapy and no appointment is required" Anon

"Every family's cooking pot has one black spot" Chinese Proverb

I have heaps more cooking based ones...can't help myself, I write the good ones in my recipe books.

Henry Ford was asked the secret to his long marriage?
He replied "much the same as cars, stick to the one model"

Well I am not sure if this should be attributed to anyone but my dear Mum used to say

Just when you thought you had finished being a mother ... you become a grandmother and the worry starts all over again!  :o :o

My other favourite at the moment is the one I stumbled across about a week before Mum passed away

"We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love ... and then we return home" Australian Aboriginal Proverb

I TRY to do a little of each each day  :)

Loving this thread  :-* :-*

I have heard this one before, but it sort of stopped me in my tracks to reflect how we all worry about those we love and care about. Sometimes we worry a little, and sometimes a lot depending on what it is, but its always "there".

LOL everytime I hear this one... :D
"It sometimes happens, even in the best of families, that a baby is born. This is not necessarily cause for alarm. The important thing is to keep your wits about you and borrow some money." - Elinor Goulding Smith.

Another common one here after a hard day is good ol' Dr Suess..."today is gone, today is done...tomorrow is another one."  :)

Here's one I heard a lot growing up:

If you can't be good, be careful *grin*

There are many movie quotes that I use but my favourite will always be:

"May the Force be with you" from Star Wars (or it's derivation of May the Fourth be with you - you know you want to laugh *grin*).

Love this thread - looking forward to more quotes.
