Just started reading Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. Think it will take me a while to get through - I enjoy historical fiction but I find the writing style of this a little annoying and confusing. Or maybe that's just because my head feels like its full of cotton wool at the moment!

Just finished reading Capital by JOhn Lochester on the recommendation of my librarian. Enjoyable  read about the residents in a London street just before the GFC.

Just about to read Michelle de kretser's book Questions of travel.

I hadn't read historical fiction since reading Jean Plaidy when I was a teenager, but I just loved Mantels books and couldn't put them down. Can't wait for the next one. I think I most enjoyed how contemporary she makes the politics feel.

Finished reading Mark Kurlansky's "Salt" - brilliantly researched, accessibly written and a must for anyone interested in food & history.

Well I really loved 'Wolf Hall' and will probably download the sequel, but right now I'm reading 'Anna Karenina' by Tolstoy as I had downloaded it ages ago for free. Enjoying it so far - I like to dip into the classics every now and then...

I see you have bread Gert. That will have to do. I am reading a book by Loretta Hill. It is from Net Gallery and is to be released soon.
Our book club book this month is Room by Emma Donaghue. I really enjoyed that, but it did give me an icky feel.

Had to go shopping to buy the meat to make the potted beef. Only cost me $160.LOL!

Would you recommend Room . I have looked at it a couple of times but not sure if I need to read it.

I really enjoyed it except for the end. All of a sudden it seemed the author got sick of writing and just hurried it.

I enjoyed Room - although to say one enjoyed it isn't quite right. It looked at other issues around that sort of long term confinement that I hadn't thought of.
I've just read the Booker short-listed "Harvest" by Jim Crace. An excellent read.
Also "The Telling Room" which is about a piece of cheese (in a roundabout sort of way) - also excellent.
