I recently purchased the Dinner Spinner app and I am very happy with it.  There is a good selection of recipes. It is easy to use and the shopping list function is great.  I think it will be useful when I call into the shop on the way home from work and I need to pick up soemthing for dinner.

Hi Freshfoodfan,

When I wnet to my first demo I knew that I wanted one. The price was daunting but when I worked out what I owuld spen on a good food processor and I needed a new bread machine ad I wanted a mix master or something similar. The price didn't seem so bad.

I have never regretted the purchase and my tow grown daughters each have one now too.  It is best to consider all of your options and decide what is going to be right for you and your family.

Drove to Perth tonight because I am competing in a triathlon tomorrow so only made a beetroot salad with DD1's TM. We had it with some hamburgers that I cooked.

I picked all the ripe tomatoes from my plants before I left home I think I am going to be making sauce on Sunday when I get home.

WE have amazing amounts of stuff stored around our house.  DW is a hoarder. Not a true clincla horder but she saves anything with a smidgen of sentimental value and she does like to have supplies of some things. I think it comes form not having a lot when she was a child and having a mother that was not sentimental about anything and saved nothing.

I have a shed full our kids toys (the girls are 25 and 27 this year). DW say they are for the grandkids to play with when we finally get some.

Dashingden,  How much Jamsetta did you put in.?  I usually add about 1/2 a packet.

Chookie I Reheated the jam on 100 for about 15 minutes then added 1/2 packet of Jamsetta and cooked at veroma temp for 15 minutes. There was skinning on the top of the jam in the bowl. I put a teaspoon on a cold plate and waited 30 sec to a minute then drug my finger through it. The jam seemed set.

It is thicker but not thick like store bought jam at room temperature.  WHen I put a jar in the fridge it thickened up to a usable consistancy.

Great about the milk ... just wish there was someone a little closer on the south side.  :-\

The diary is called Sunnydale. Their office is in Nedlands. The might have a sale point south of the river if you give them a call.  They also do cream, yoghurt and flavoured milk.

This was my first Dinner Spinner recipe. It was really easy and quite tasty. DW doesn't like chilli so I only put half a medium one in the dressing and it was enough.  I would happily make this again.

I purchased the Dinner Spinner app and found it really easy to use. It was very helpful when I was in the supermarket and needed to check a couple of ingredients.

I bought Kale the other day at the Subiaco markets.  There is also a single origin diary supplier there that has a herd of Jersey cows, sells the milk in glass bottles and it has only been pasteurized. They also have very nice ice cream.

Dashingden I didn't realise you were a West Aussie and work for the dreaded Ed Dept. I may have run into you some time when I was working.

Cookie I have worked for the department for about 14 years. I have always worked in the country, mostly in the Pilbara and the Southwest. I am currently based at the Narrogin Local Education Office. This last year with the department and the restructure has left me thinking about a change in career.

I may not put things away exactly as DW would but with 8 years in the Marines I am pretty good at cleaning.  I also am much better at ironing, I am slow but thorough.

I am a firm believer that most young people would benefit from a stint in the military. It instills discipline and usually leads to greater independence and maturity.

I have both sons home at the moment working here, so should have though to charge board and use it to pay a cleaner. Trouble is, when kids are home helping on the farm, it doesn't count....

If the boys are at home to help with harvest you really can't ask them to pay board.

I noticed in your post that you live in Nyabing.  I visit Nyabing to support the school from time to time.  I always think that the town has a good feeling about it.

Katheryn when our adult dd moved back home while waiting for a house to become available we made her pay a third of the cost of the cleaning lady.  She wasn't impressed but we gave her the option of doing her share of the cleaning instead and she opted to pay.

There is only DW and myself so there really isn't alot of cleaning needed but we both work hard and I spend a couple of hours a day training for triathlons. I would rather pay someone to clean so we can enjoy our time away from work.
