No cooking today. We had a breakfast car run.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I invented a new recipe today ... I couldn't decide how to use some of the veges in my weekly vege box so just combined everything with pasta and chirstened it "Red, green and white pasta"  :)

Made fresh tomato soup from home grown tomatoes.
Experimented with cooking pappadums in AF. Preheat,200, cook 1 minute.  Need to weigh down with heavy metal cake ring.

Nice Chookie.  I made Chicken Chasseur yesterday, left the veggies chunky and added cooked chicken at the end.  I have to force myself to eat it as I don’t like it but at least I’m making myself progress from mushed veggies to whole pieces.  I’ve had 2 small meals of it and there’s probably 3 left (only did half the recipe) but I doubt I’ll keep eating it.

Chookie that germ tomato chutney looks good .
Stewed plums and then strewed home grown pears . The pear juices are always a treat afterwards for me .

I also made a coconut and jam slice.
The green tomato chutney is very nice.  Just as well as there are going to be lots of green tomatoes.  It is a stove top recipe.  I don’t think it would adapt well to TMX.  It has to be simmered until most of the liquid has evaporated.
Will send recipe if anyone is interested.  The sugar is caramelised before all other ingredients are added.

I have Oyster Blade Steak with French Onion Soup in the SC at the moment https://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipes/oyster-blade-steak-french-onion-sauce-recipe/58km3e6i  I used our home made FOSM and put lots of veggies into the SC before the recipe ingredients.  I only used 1.5 pieces of beef.
A friend visited yesterday with a bag of tomatoes and zucchini’s so I’ve made half recipe of Megan’s Tomato Passata https://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2193.0, my Zucchini Soup (added some Neutral Sustagen when serving up a bowl for lunch) https://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2086.0 and some zucchini & pumpkin fritters for lunch as well.  Still more zucchini’s to use.

Some busy ladies there. Yesterday I made a marble cake, which turned out a bit flat but still tastes nice apparently. A Classic loaf. Today I have made my SD rye loaf and I'm just cooking some 5 seed bars from cookidoo.
I sort of copied Chookie with the pears in the AF. We have quite a few small pears , so I halved them, cored them and popped a tiny bit of caramel in the hole and then AF'd them. Very tasty. I also stewed some plums that were a bit soft. I used the blade cover. It went well as the plums didn't mush up.

The cooler weather makes us want to cook I think cookie, not that it seems to stop all of us.

Thanks Marina, I’m progressing but not really enjoying much.  This afternoon, after I’d knocked off in the kitchen, I saw Justine Schofield cook a zucchini and tomato sauce to top some polenta so I jumped up and made it myself to finish off the zucchinis.  My DD will be over from Melbourne at Easter time so this is earmarked for her.  The SC meal is done, a very small portion eaten for dinner tonight without too much trouble.  It would be nice if I could enjoy these things though.

What to do with a ton of green tomatoes!!!
Yesterday I made a spice cake with green tomatoes.  I was just like an apple cake with spice, walnuts and sultanas.  Will certainly make again. The tomatoes are mashed in TMX and then thoroughly drained. It was a TMX Community recipe.

Thank you cookie.
You’re finding plenty of recipes to try with your green tomatoes Chookie.  I’m not up with green tomatoes, are they a type of tomato or are you picking them before they ripen?
