Hi all,
I read on Facebook somewhere that the Festive Flavour Cookbook was going to be re-released in time for Christmas this year. Can anyone please confirm if this is the case and how much it will be selling for?
I've seen a couple on Ebay but suspect the price may be higher than what Thermomix will be charging and if that's the case then I'd rather wait and buy through TM.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
-
According to something Cecilia posted, it will be available from 1st December from the Thermomix cookbook shop (http://www.thermomix.com.au/products/cookbooks.aspx) - not advertised yet.
-
It is a re-release of the last edition but with a new cover.
Someone asked the same question on the Thermomix in Australia Facebook page today and here is the Thermomix answer:
Thermomix in Australia Good morning. Your consultant will definitely be able to get your Festive Flavour. Otherwise, they are available for sale at our cooking classes.

Thanks all,
I hope you will be able to purchase through the Thermomix store as well. I haven't heard from my consultant in five months so am not sure if I will be able to get it through her.
-
My consultant is moving interstate so contacted thermomix and they referred me to another local consultant. I've ordered my copy. It's $15 :)
-
Is it a new one or the old one?
Gert
-
I heard the old one with a new cover
-
The price seems reasonable.
-
Yes, definitely Gert. The old one with a new cover.
-
I have a spare one from last year if anyone would like it.? :)
edited to add, the book has been claimed. :D
-
Thanks 50+. I went to a Festive Flavours cooking class tonight and admit I didn't buy the book as not too many of the recipes seemed very "Christmasy" to me.
-
MM has asked me to remove all reference to the posts regarding downloading of this book. I hope you all understand. :-* :-*
-
Completely Judy:)
-
Thanks Judy. I've just come onto the computer as was going to do it. Great that I am 2 1/2 hours behind you in time.
-
It's a big difference in daylight saving time Cookie so I would be very surprised to find you had been on here in the morning before me ;D
-
I don't think that is likely to happen. Usually it is my afternoon. I try to fool DH that I don't jump on here as soon as I get up. Although I must admit when we were away he often handed me the ipad when I was still in bed and said 'check out the forum.' He also became more familiar with everyone on here, especially those he met.
-
It pays for DH's to meet the forum members - you can get away with spending much more time on here then ;)
-
I wish I had met DH .

Next time. Next year is the Birdsville Track, maybe the year after that.
-
Oh I would love to do that. Anyone need an extra driver? Cook? Cleaner?
Gert
-
We'll be in a tent, still interested? :) :) :)😃😃😃😃
-
Nota so much. LOL!
Gert
-
I was in a tent when I was in Girl Scouts. Summer camps too. I have been in tents at wedding s and horse races. Will there be toilets?

Gert
Now they are the sort of tents I like :D :D :D
Think you will have to dig your own toilet Gert :D
-
Dig? Like in DIRT?
NOOOOOOOO!

Good one Jen. ;D I can't believe where this thread has gone, one minute we are talking about a recipe book and the next minute we are going camping ;)
-
That does not make us bad people JD?
Thanks for the loo paper Jen. I do not think Birdsville is anyway near a billabong.
-
My book arrived today, thank you

Little? NOOOOOOOO!

Gert

Ooh sorry mauve is not my favourite colour. Now I really must stop posting on this post or Judy or MM will get me or delete me. Hee Hee.😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😂😂😂😭😭
-
I am really confused now . Is this not last years book with a new cover? Are ther any new recipes in it?
Gert
-
Yes Gert. Last years with a new cover.
-
I must have missed something as this is already available on line for free isn't it?
Gert
-
If it is, Gert, can you point me in the right direction please?
Ta muchly,

Here's (http://www.theannoyedthyroid.com/) a great review from one of our members who attended a Festive Flavours cooking class recently.
-
Thanks Judy. I haven't seen that blog before, looks good!
-
Loved the pic of the loo paper Jen, but pretty sure there's no scenery like that out Birdsville way! The only ice they'd have would be in the esky's at the Birdsville races, or a cold morning in winter!
Gert, come camping with me, I have good loo paper (will not have anything else), can organise a magazine stand (between the forks of a tree), and mauve....well time your "visit" right and the sunrise / sunset can be colourful!
I have plenty of funny loo stories whilst camping!!
Sorry...back to the festive flavour book, yes it is the old book with a new cover. I love the pear mince tarts in it. Must make a few batches and freeze them.
-
Nikkit would love to go camping with you. Any 5 star hotel with a sunset view will,do. You choose.
Gert
-
Gert I only camp in million star hotels, they are sooooo good! ;D ;D
Last one was out north east of here at an old mine called Rothsay. (Rothsay Golden Delights Hotel)
Then there was the one near Dalwallinu. (Dally Heights)
Food is always good, and varied, plenty of it. Waitresses are young, but very capable. If we plan it right the wine list is good and the beer is always icy cold!
Views are awesome.
And the best bit...No noisy people in the next room "banging" on the wall.. :-))
-
Yup I COULD do that!
Gert
-
;D ;D ;D I think the question there, Gert, is . . . WOULD you??
-
Sounds lovely Nikkit. Have you been to Birdsville? If so I would love to 'pick your brains' as we hope to go next year.
-
;D ;D ;D I think the question there, Gert, is . . . WOULD you??
That is a very good question GF. Love that question.
Gert
-
Couldya wouldya Gert??? Chuck in your swag love, we're off! (what was the champas you like ...I'll call ahead and make sure there is plenty!!)
Cookie1, no I haven't been to Birdsville, my parents have though and had a hoot.
I did do the Landor races many moons ago... (but don't remember a whole lot :-)) ...those were in the days when I was young-er, could drink like a fish and wake up smiling, and it didn't hurt so much when I got spat off a horse!!)
-
Thanks. How long ago did your folks go to Birdsville?
The Landor races have quite a reputation. When I worked in Three Springs a few people went up for the races. Needless to,say they enjoyed themselves.
-
Morning cookie1, hmmmm would have to be more than 11 years ago now, as my Dad passed away 11 years ago. Did think about it last night and I have a funny feeling they missed the race meet and made their own. I remember seeing photos of my Dad and uncle 'racing' past the finish line riding sticks, and Mum and my aunty wearing their hats they had made. The things you do when out bush!! Oh - there were lots of flies too.
There'd be a forum page on it on the internet somewhere Cookie, I usually google where we are heading to, to see if there's anything I should know.
-
Thanks Nikkit. We thought we wouldn't go at race time, as you say make our own fun. Isn't it funny how we measure time? My Dad died 15 years ago and Mum almost exactly 8 years ago. I still miss them, silly I guess but they were a very important part of my life.
On a happier note, thanks for your information. Yes Mr Google has been very helpful.
-
No probs Cookie1, not too sure if I was any help though!
Yes it is funny how we measure time, I think of Dad and my youngest was born a month after he died, my eldest was born when he turned 50, so dates/times/ages seem to revolve around him. I don't think you ever stop missing them, I certainly still miss my Dad, And think of him a lot - especially when I am riding as even though he was not a horseman he always encouraged me to ride. He would love what I am doing now and I do wish that he was still here to see what I do. Although some days I am sure he is here with me in spirit!
Funny how we've totally changed the subject from the festive cookbook to numerous other subjects!
And I see that Gert hasn't been back to take me up on my "lets go camping" offer!!! ;)
-
:) :) :) ;D
-
I have been camping at the Beltana Races . I managed . My ladder was a lot younger.
