Thanks Willmac. Great recipe. I have my own non TM banana bread recipe but thought I'd try another one. Yours was delicious. The mixed spice is a nice touch. Will make it again.

My Mum has been making this often as it is one of the only cakes that my Dad can eat (restricted diet waiting for gall bladder op).  They are really enjoying it and are now making the banana version, the date version and a yummy new apple version.

Apple Version:
Substitute the bananas for 2 medium peeled and grated apples.
Substitute the mixed spice for cinnamon.
Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar (or rapadura) over the bread before baking.

Lucky to get a big bag of ripe and over ripe  banana for $1.-!   Baking in the oven now....   Thanks for sharing this recipe.
