'muli tier' recipes
« on: January 25, 2010, 06:07:42 am »
Has anyone got some good recipies that are multi tiered in the thermomix

by this I mean have one thing going in the bowl and/ or basket and another component going in the Varoma

the only way I have worked out to do this so far is to cook rice or pasta whilst steaming in the varoma

I was wondering if there were any more ideas for this kind of thing?

I still haven't got around to trying this one, but it gets fantastic reviews.  And should give you ideas of other possibilities.

There is Baf65's chicken and vegies and there are also some chicken satays with sauce. Have a careful look through the main meals section and you will find others.  Also if you have the 'Full Steam Ahead' book you will find some in there too.
Steaming fish and vegies, with potatoes in the basket is another good one too.
Once you do a few you'll find yourself managing others.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Was absolutely delicious as always - OH (Other Half - I can't get used to calling him DH  >:() said it worked really well with the sweet potato as the sauce balances the sweetness in the potato.  I don't think he's that keen on a "naked" sweet potato.

It's so easy to cook as well which is an added bonus

Just got on here to look for a tiered recipe - and here is a thread with many pages of reading attached. Now I've spent my cooking time reading!!  :-)) Tanks!  ;)

So after spending all that time reading this is what I came up with for dinner :
Bron's Steamed Garlic Rice in bowl
Fish on a bed of parsley, coated in herbs and sliced lemon on top of them
Top Tier - Carrot and Zucchini Ribbons
Plating it up with rice than vegies, then fish on top with salt, pepper, parsley and EVOO drizzled.
Should of taken a photo - it looked impressive and tasted better!!  ;)
