Great work Cookie :-*

Last night we had the middle eastern lamb cutlets,Marinated the lamb for about 6 hrs. I used loin chops they we enjoyed by all.
-
Fragrant Asian fish parcels, I used salmon instead of white fish fillets as that was what we had in the freezer, cooked for the same amount of time as per recipe, the rice has a lovely flavour as some of the sauce is left in the jug when you cook the rice. Great all in one meal.

Hi lovelies :)
Not long I received the download for this book....just wondered what your thoughts were, for those who have read it.
I created & posted a vegetable soup with bacon & pasta, and posted it here in this forum in 2010
.http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3113.0
....reading "The recipe that started it all" from this book, bacon & vegetable soup....can't help but to raise an eyebrow.
Am I off the mark??
-
Is it word for word yours maddy?
-
It's an extremely similar recipe, almost identical ingredients and methods. Different wording, and the pasta is only added in the last 7 minutes in the recipe in the book.
I would assume it was perhaps the inspiration for it, and maybe she doesn't realise that it is so close. There are some differences though.
-
Hi Maddy. I hope things are well with you. I've just compared the recipes and as Sarah said they are very similar. If it was me I would send her a message just asking her if she was aware of your recipe. It can be done in a very nice way.
They are very similar. Of course it all depends on you.
-
The first time I made her soup I immediately thought it was very similar to your soup Maddy.
-
The quantities are identical. Another example of people adding one or two tweaks and claiming it as there own .........just my opinion. Of course, it may be an honest mistake or freaky coincidence. I agree with cookie, a friendly email is what I would do.
-
I too thought of Maddy as soon as I read it in the ebook, I love your recipe
-
That's interesting Maddie, I used to make your soup often and really enjoyed it as a quick lunch/dinner. I haven't yet got Skinnymixers latest book but had planned on getting the ebook over the next few days until I read the contents, there really isn't much different in there that hasn't already been done elsewhere from what I can tell. I've really enjoyed her previous books and website so happy to support buy purchasing a copy. Hopefully this is just an oversight or coincidence.
-
I keep seeing people comment on it on Facebook and I feel like mentioning it, but I won't, it's not really my business at all.
-
Hi Maddy! Nice to see you posting.
Wow, the recipes are pretty much the same, so you can't help but wonder as you have.
We love your recipe at our house Maddy, it appears in our list of favourites and we make it often.
I love Skinnymixers, but if the recipe "that started it all" was actually your recipe, then that's disappointing.
-
Hi Ladies :-* xx...this "issue" has been addressed, look forward to seeing other recipe reviews from the book :)
-
Thanks Maddy.

Thanks Maddy :-*
-
That's good to hear maddy.
-
I see what happened there, good to be acknowledged.
-
Nice to see you acknowledged Maddy :)

We've made the teriyaki burgers and the Caesar salad, banoffee smoothie and chick bits so far - all been lovely. Meatballs are on menu for this week.
-
I made the quick lamb curry tonight, it was really good, but I wasn't careful enough about the cut of meat used, I meant to use lamb backstraps, but what I got out instead had a lot of fat on it, and a few bits managed to get into the dinner. However, the sauce was gorgeous.
-
I made the healthy carbonara sauce and served with bacon, mushrooms and fettuccine (sorry no photos). It was delicious and everyone gobbled it up quickly. I will definitely make again.
-
Last night I made the chicken ceaser salad it was delicious fairly quick and easy
-
Do you ladies have the hard copies of your books yet?
-
I got all mine a week or so ago.
-
Thanks Sarah.
-
Do you ladies have the hard copies of your books yet?
I got mine last week maybe the week before
-
I'll see if they come tomorrow.
-
Hope they arrive today cookie. Email them if they don't.
-
Thanks Jeninwa. I definitely will.
-
Rather disappointed. I emailed yesterday to say my hard cover books hadn't arrived. I received a reply saying they would be posted today. I realise they are busy, but it is one month since I placed the order.
-
They mentioned today on Facebook that a pile had come back with incorrect addresses on them. I wonder if they received yours and realised the error and are sending it again? It seems as though they've been madly working to get it all done.
-
That's disappointing cookie. Mine arrived last week which is a suprise as Aust post is extremely slow lately.

Have made the bacon and vegetable soup, first time didn't have mushrooms so left them out added a can of Ardmona chopped tomatoes, and possibly more bacon as I needed to use it up, the result was very yummy. The second time I added half a can of lentils to the recipe and a can of chopped tomatoes, also very yummy.
-
I have made the creamy chicken and cauliflower soup many times now and it is delicious and foolproof. Sometimes I leave out the chicken and it's still tasty. It's probably been my favourite soup this winter.
