Bread / isi's bread recipes
« on: April 30, 2013, 08:52:40 am »
I made isi's Portuguese rolls as a  loaf on the weekend and it turned out great!!!  I've noticed she also has a 'very  normal bread'  recipe.

for those of you who have made both,  can you tell me the difference?  Do they taste different?  I'm wondering whether I should give the very normal bread a go or just stick to the Portuguese rolls recipe.
 Thanks   :-)

 Thanks everyone!!

Amy, the way you described that the regular speeds  sometimes dont combine  things well is a great tip,  thank you!

but say you use speed 3 or 4,  couldn't  you still look through hole in the lid and stop when  it's all folded in?

sorry,  I'm just trying to get my head around it!!

 Hi all

I love to bake!  in the last two weeks that I've had my thermomix ive spent some time researching recipes so that I can learn to convert my own.

I've noticed that  in some recipes,  people use the interval function to mix in the flour,  many others use  does 3 or 4. I thought the interval function was just for kneading.  can anyone explain to me why you would use the interval function for mixing in flour?

 thank you!!

 Thanks everyone!!

sounds like everyone has their own way of doing simple things like chopping an  onion,  so looks like it's just trial and error  :-)  I'm going to make the coleslaw ( with your 'magic  mayo' judydawn!)  for husband birthday next week... let's hope I don't serve coleslaw soup to our family ;-)

 hi all,

I've only had my thermomix a couple of weeks so still trying to figure out speeds and times for basic functions like softening  butter, chopping  etc and I find that the Times and speeds on the summary table in the book are way off!!  so now I'm having to figure things out by trial and error.

anyone feel the same about the basic functions summary table???

Thanks  :-)

Thanks everyone  for taking the time to reply!!

I dont normally like to make things without seeing a review first bit I  might just bite the bullet and  give it a go! I'll  report back.

the EDC I have is the  November 2012  edition, I  think the latest edition was released 9 April  ,which means I  just missed out but I think I prefer my one bec it is spiral bound!
