Sorry for the hysteria. ;)
I can't access my page on the forum as on my laptop as I seem to have forgotten my password. I have requested the password change link several times, but nothing happens.
I had the bright idea to change my password on my profile while on my desktop machine, but apparently I need my old password to do that. Which would be the one I seem to have forgotten.
I don't want to touch anything on my profile password-wise or I think I might be locked out altogether.
Can someone advise what to do??
-
oh no, what have you done? I have no Idea how to help you either. I would be Hysterical too. Where is Judy when you need her She would know how to fix it I am sure.

Amanda, somewhere in your browser will be a list of passwords. See if you have a Tools or Options on the bar at the top of your browser screen then see if you can see anything that might say or imply security or passwords and see if you can backtrack through that.
It may take a bit of fossicking around, but hopefully you will be successful. Good luck.
-
Great tip & I can seem to find every other password but this one!
Any other ideas anyone?

Hi Amanda, Sorry I have no idea what to advise. Perhaps MM will email with what to do. Good luck!!!
-
Sorry but I am not computer literate at all. Have you contacted MM Amanda? I keep a book with all my passwords in it otherwise I wouldn't remember which one I've used for what :P :P Did you want to change your profile Amanda?
-
You remind me of me, JD. A couple of years ago I decided I had better make a list of passwords, account numbers, logins, driver's licence numbers, passport numbers, contact details for bank accounts, etc and ended up with 5 pages (mind you, I incorporated all the business ones as well). It really is quite an eye opener when you sit down and do a list like this - our lives are just one long list of numbers!!
-
sorry cant help either except dont they have a suggestion thing to help remind you of your password ie what was yours dogs name as a child etc and then they can send you your password...i use that alot but not sure if its available for the forum and I do as JD does and write down all my passwords on a piece of paper handy as there are way too many to remember and they are all different so I only remember the ones i use most often...if all else fails contact MM im sure he will help....isnt there a forgotton your password button though...should be then that should either send it to your email or prompt you with a question to recover your password???

ok amanda just found this in the help button/section....
If you're trying to login to the forum but have forgetten or lost your password, you can retrieve it with the lost password tool by following the Forgot your password? link from the login screen.
Password reminder
You can't retrieve your password, but you can set a new one by following a link sent to you by email. You also have the option of setting a new password by answering your secret question.
You can enter either your username or your email address so long as you check the appropriate option, then click the Send button to send yourself an email containing a link to reset your password. It's also possible to avoid the email altogether if you've set yourself a secret question and answer in your profile, but please beware of questions that anyone could answer or guess (like 'what is the first color of the rainbow?', which would be a very bad choice)!

Sorry can't help. My only suggestion would be to email MM. Good luck.
-
How are you getting on? Bluesed's suggestion looks good - give it a go and see if that helps. In fact, I think I'll make a note of that URL myself and keep it for future reference "just in case"!
-
Did MM get back to you Amanda?
-
I couldt get in today either - ended up having to change my password all together. Dont know if it was the same problem as you Amanda.

Amanda still can't get in but hopefully MM is on her case.

I have an address book with all my passwords for everything - bank accounts, forums, online shopping sites, pages and pages of them. So many user names and passwords, it's incredible!
I mostly use the same ones except for bank accounts.

(like 'what is the first color of the rainbow?', which would be a very bad choice)!
is it pink? (just singing the song now...)
still singing the song, but can't get the last colour la lah lah...had to Google it:
Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too.
Listen with your eyes,
Listen with your ears,
and sing everything you see,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing along with me.
Red and yellow and pink and green,
Purple and orange and blue,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too!

Nice to have a happy CP- holiday did it's job!

Meaganjane, I also made list of passwords, account numbers, passport and drivers licence numbers, etc. a couple of years ago - between the business and personal details it came to about 8 pages I think - I also included addersses, contact phone numbers, web addresses of as many organisations as I could as well, hence the length. It has proven invaluable many times - so long as I remember to keep it up to date.
