This is a video message for my littlest one (just gone 5) from Santa.  He wouldn't pick up his toys tonight without a fuss ....... so we told him Santa's watching.

Well the cookies were a hit ! Happy son, happy Mum lol.

One of the Mums from another class took her Thermomix into school today and made a fruit slushy for her daughters class for Masterchef .......... was very hot here today so she said it went down really well.

We made these in the end. He wanted something sweet.

We used this cookie dough recipe and Christmas tree cookie cutters. Then dipped them in chocolate (225gm choc melts plus 1 1/2 tbsp. coconut oil).  I hope they set ok ! Attached nice pic of chocolate all over his face lol. He's finally gone to bed ........ahhhhh.

Frozzie I think they're about $400. Would have thought they would have been available in the online store but not so.

Snappy that sounds like a fantastic idea ......... will be interested how it tastes. We bought some Bailey's fudge at Tamborine Mountain a while back and it was very yummy .... would be nice to make for Christmas.

It's been a big week, their Christmas concert was last night, so late night, then cooking tonight, writing cards for all their friends, presents for teachers, interviews etc ..........

I can't remember where I read this .......... but when you're making icing sugar you have to blend it on sp 8 /9 then let it cool. Then blend again, let it cool ........ repeat a few times. Apparently this is how commercial icing sugar is made. The blades get quite hot hence the cooling in between.  In saying this ...... I still buy icing sugar for certain things.

Stacelee,

I did a bit of research on my Qantas FF points a little while back and I found it worked out better to use points to buy gift cards and then buy in a store.  I was basing my research on a Samsung Galaxy phone. To buy from FF store cost 144,500 points, to buy gift cards for Harvey Norman and go and buy the phone cost 34,900 points.  I was amazed ! Check if flybuys is the same ....... you might get a lot more for your points lol.

It really seems to be driven by the management of whatever store it is.  There is a Woolworths local to me which is supposed to be one of their worst stores in the chain....their product is limited compared to the store I went to yesterday and their fruit and veg are pathetic but their staff are really lovely so I normally go there if I need to go to Woolies.  I'm really spoilt that I have access to heaps of groceries stores within five minutes of my home and work including three aldi's, four woolworths, two coles and two iga's but I hate grocery shopping and prefer either the quick duck in and grab or I order online!  The Woolworths that I went to yesterday has a really bad reputation for their staff and I don't normally go there but I had to do the banking in that centre so I took the easy way out....I won't be going again.

I'm currently trying to decide if I can justify getting a breville smart scoop ice cream machine.  I have enough flybuy reward points to get one but I already have a cuisinart frozen cylinder one.  I'm a bit frustrated as our upright freezer is currently out of commission due to a broken fan (waiting on parts :( ) and I'm operating on very limited freezer space and the ice cream bowls are sitting out of it.  With christmas coming up I've got the guilts and think I should be spending the points on something else. :(

Thanks Kulsha will give it a try. Your bread sounds great Chookie too. Kids are hard because if it doesn't look and taste like shop bought they turn their noses up at it and I hate making food that goes to waste !

Which bread recipe do you like ? It's hard to know what to try when you're trying to feed it to kids that are only used to wheat bread lol.
